Hi everyone. First off, I am 16 years old. I am not one of those kids who thinks Adsense is slapping the code on your site and watching the bucks "roll in". I know Adsense does not work like that. Yes, I also realize I am to young to legally make money from Adsense, but my dad has said it is okay to put his name for me. So anyways, I want to start making money online (mostly by Adsense, but if you know of any other methods that truely work, I am willing to discover). What are some steps that I should take to get started? A few more questions: 1) What are some topics that not many people write about and will get the attention of others 2) What website should I use to host my blog? 3) Is it okay to use a pre-made website template? 4) Any other pieces of advice you can give me Also, feel free to add me on msn if you find it easier to help through that: senshockey12345@hotmail.com Thanks in advance, Ben
Ben the answer to adsense is new content often. I would honestly concentrate on the site rater than making the site for adsense - if that makes sense! I would stear clear from webmaster/website sites and concentrate on sites that appeal to 'Joe Public.' I don't click many ads myself, do you? But 'Joe Public' does. My Adsense integrated sites include a internet related site, that's the one that makes the least amount of adsense revenue. Hope this helps and good luck with your Fathers sites
I wouldn't be telling that your 16. According to Adsense TOS you must be at least 18 years of age if I am not mistaken. Skinny
The best advice is create a website which interests you, or you are knowledgable in, for example mabe a blog, ignore what everyone else is doing, also make sure you read and seo and marketing to help guide you. Read the post again
Yeah, maybe you should blog about your hobbies whatever they be. I'd use wordpress as the platform. Make sure that you use your own domain name, costs about $8 a year from firms such as godaddy. You'll just need a basic hosting service at first, a small orange does a nice starter package for $25 a year, there are many others though. then I'd probably have a read of problogger to get some basic (and advanced) tips.
Hi Ben, 1. It's very important to choose the right niche: you should look for a niche that is non competitive but has a market. Check the link in my signature and even if you don't decide to buy my niche, look at the 5 most important things that a niche should have. 2. I use 1and1.com and I am pretty happy with it, although a lot of people are not satisfied with them. Dreamhost is another good webhosting website. 3. If you don't know how to make you own website, I suggest you pay someone else to do it. If you don't have the money, go ahead and use a free template. But as soon as you start making some money, buy an original design. It's very important to have your own unique website, but you shouldn't let this be a drawback if you don't have the skills to make your on site or the money to buy one. 4. Be patient. Don't just rush making a website, without analysing if there's a market for your site, or if there is a lot of competition etc. Hope this helps
Yes...I am quite sure I said in my post that my dad has allowed me to put it under his name...Did I not say that?
Deano, I tried to quote your message but it wouldn't let me... Anyways, Deano: This was very helpful Although, I have a question. These sites have different packages that you can purchase... Which one's would you suggest (1 year plan)?
Hi Ben for hosting I'd just do a one year plan. The tiny one at $25 is an ideal starter plan. For the domain name I'd probably register for a couple of years; there are many people who have commented that google favours longer registrations (don't want to go into the pros and cons of the argument here). Do a search for coupons for godaddy, as you may be able to get a couple of dollars off the price. Also have a long think about what your domain name should be, something to capture your audience. try this site for domain name ideas
Hey, I got started with adsense when I was 14 (and never ran into any problems)..To answer your questions; 1: You have to think of that on your own because that is what we do..Why would we give away our secrets? 2: You should buy paid webhosting I am with 1and1 and really love them so try that. I have also had good experiences with hostgator as they have low prices and good tech-support. You could also try starting up a free blogger account and then expand from there. 3: Yes, I don't see any problems with using a pre-made template as long as you don't "steal" it. 4: Lots of advice! 1st off always have unique content, never steal content as it only causes problems. a. Content is king! Make lots of content then think about the money. b. Don't do it for the money - Do something that will keep YOU interested and motivated. c. Don't give up- I think this is the number one thing. You probably won't see a lot of return and visitors at first but just keep going! I'm sure there is much more advice I and others could give you but you probably will learn it on your own within the first few months!
Hey Behnam, Your thread here actually JUST inspired me to start this thread. Free 45 Internet Marketing Course For Junior Webmasters Hope this helps
Good luck with it. I would start a site about something that interests you and your peers....use your age to your benefit. anything topic you choose try and market it to your peers. I am only 25 and I must admit a lot of what my young teenage brother says and does goes right over my head...its like he is living in another world
I started around the same time. I would say my tip is dont expect much atleast not at first. Also agree with person above, dont make it webmaster based. My two webmaster sites have CTR about a 20th of my gardening site even though the garden site has one ad on the homepage and thats it.
i will help you to make at least $ 2 a day (to start) with Adsense thru social network. email me if you have any qustions:
