One of my sites has recently started showing on #16 on the Google & getting good traffic, but on Yahoo it's not found at all. I have submitted to yahoo, but still shows no result whatsoever. Any idea? Will I be penalize if I re-submit it to Yahoo? Thanks

Submitting your sites to search engines doesn't work too well in my experience. Just keep getting more and more links (from forum posting, blog commenting, creating link baits, digg/propeller) with good anchor text and you will show up in yahoo and your rankings will increase.

Do not worry with that. I got very different results between Google and Yahoo. It varies a lot between singular and plural versions. Sometimes on Yahoo I can be found for the plural form, but not the singular. It looks harder to control the results on Yahoo. Webmasters optimize mostly for Google. Your case does not look problematic. You can re-submit if you want, but once every 3 or 6 months. Try to verify on Yahoo if you have backlinks before re-submitting, your site might already be in Yahoo, but not ranked.

That is because Google and Yahoo uses different algorithm in indexing and ranking a site. Google is more on backlinks while Yahoo is more on content.

Sign up for a Yahoo Site Explorer account and submit your sitemap directly to yahoo.

Sign up for a Yahoo Blog Log account - this will give your site a link from inside yahoo.

After you do those 2 things, your site should start showing up in yahoo within a couple of days.

yahoo and google both are different in terms of algorithm, so if u r good in google, not consider u good in yahoo rank
