I think linked In is a massively untapped resource!! Thanks for all the tips and advice, its much appreciated. Ill add one more to all that:

- If you want to get to know somebody that you have no connections with and aren't in the same group then just click add and say 'hi..., I'm looking to expand my network in (enter industry) and you came across on your profile as a keen expert in the industry, please can i add you to my network', or something similar, its a great way of adding people you don't know, 90% of the people I've added have accepted.
