Sure would be nice to see some conversions. I am running a mix of text and banner ads. I have worked on placement, targeting and feel that I am doing everything right.. But no sales yet. One theory I have for my lack of success is that the type of sites I am running are those that typically do not convert that well. Like a couple of arcade sites, some informational sites with banners, article directories etc.. What I would like to know from those who have seen a reasonable success from CJ is what types of sites typically do better with cj?
Well there are many. The Article Directory in my sig for one. Then I have a search portal that has a lot of informational sites with banners at the bottom of each page. Those are a couple that I have along with this arcade site. Also this music search site. All I can think is that these just arent the types of sites that convert well. Most of those impressions are from just the last 60 days.
Yep, you're right. If I had a site, I would not advertise on your site, because based on personal experiences, traffic from sites like yours don't convert. Hope this isn't too offensive.. just stating my observations. Review and comparison websites. Act like an authority source, do some research, recommend good products. Don't advertise with banners unless it's CPM.
Only related products works, like if you have dating site then placing auto ads does not work. also text ads perform better than banners.
In my opinion, I would through either Google or Yahoo ads up. Text ads will perform MUCH better than CJ ads on these types of site. In my experience, I generate about a 2.5% click thru rate. With your stats its hard to generate numbers, but I'll give it a try. Say you only have 1 page view per uniqued (simply for simple numbers only). Then your 157,000 will constitute 3,925 clicks. Now lets say you average $.05 a click over the long run (won't be much more than that given the topics). That still generates you $196.25 in revenue. Thats a pretty descent haul if you an do that once a month. More than pays for hosting while throwing some change in your pocket. Give that a try and see if you can't generate some revenue. Good luck!
