I need a WordPress theme designed for my new site: The Daily Telecommuter. The theme needs to portray the look and feel of a newspaper classifieds section. See examples here and here. The site will primarily be a work at home resource. My biggest concern is a newspaper is boring. The black and white color combination doesn't fare well on the web. So be sure to add some life and color to the design. I will pay $100 for the design and an additional $50 for the theme to coded for use in WordPress. I'll offer feedback on every design and change submitted. I also reserve the right to not choose a winner. Payment will be through Paypal or an Online Gift Certificate (to avoid PP fees) Finally, once I pay you, I own all rights to the design and it may not be sold later on. Thank you and good luck!
Also, in the header, the title of the page should be circled in red sharpie-type line, like a circled classified ad.

It's a fairly good start. I do like the 3-column look. Recommended Changes: - Spice the header up a bit. I don't want ads on either side, so that will give you some room for changes. - Aside from the graphics, it lacks a newspaper feel. - The font selection is very plain and could use some variety. - The physical content almost falls beneath the fold, the paragraph block and accompanying graphic should be at the bottom of the post.
I received Swaymedia's contribution last night. Feedback: - It lacks a real newspaper feel, however it is a nice design. It's just not what I had in mind. - See the examples I listed above for a little inspiration.

I've already given Sway feedback. DigitalPhoenix -Great job, you really captured the newspaper feel. -My only concern is the sidebar. The colors and fonts just don't do anything for me. -Also, perhaps a darker background would look better. I like the pattern, but wouldn't mind seeing a little contrast.
