150 Uniques a day - Proxy

I started my first proxy a week ago. I spent a few days submitting to directories and now during the week Im reciving about 150+ uniques a day.

Is this about right or should I be getting more. I thought I would have got more than this.

Other than submitting to directories how can I get traffic to my site?

 

Well, I dont think you can do much about promoting a PROXY SITE.
SEO obviously won't help you,try putting ads of your site on your pals sites ,thats all you can do.
Btw I dont thnk 150+ is bad for a Proxy site

150+ from directory submission. I realise I run a forum, not a proxy, but I have submitted to over 500 directories and only see 20 UVs a day. Strange.

 

Forums work differently to Proxies though. People dont tend to look in directories for forums where as people do when looking for proxies.

 

There are tons of things you can do to promote your proxy. And what makes you think seo won't help?

 

150 isnt bad, but proxy traffic is very inconsistent, one day it can randomly drop by a lot.

 

There are millions of proxy websites out there it would be too hard to get a good enough place in search engine listings.

Yeah ive noticed. This weekend Ive had like 20 page views lol.

 

Its suppose to be hard with seo. If you want to succeed you need to be prepared to work. Besides, you don't have to target "proxy". There are thousands of longtail keyword combinations that will work a treat.

 

Go up to the BST forum here, and check both Freebies and Advertising.
Lots of offers there for advertising a proxy site.
