$150 site design project, winner may get more work!

We are looking to have a site designed. The site will compare internet providers. I have given a couple of examples of our competitors sites, however we do NOT want a duplicate of these!!!

We want the designer to be creative, and we are looking for a professional but fun and funky design.

TO protect the designers, just show jpgs here, and the winner will be paid for the PSD file and html file. If you cannot splice inthe VALID html/css, don't worry, but please do say this when showing your design. If it is really good, we can get someone else to chop it into VALID html/css.

We wish to have the same functionality as the sites shown below, but as they are our competitors, we do NOT wish to have a copy of their sites! REPEAT, the sites shown below are NOTHING to do with us, nor are they associated with us. WE don't want a copy of them, they are given below only to show you the functionality needed. - Please open these in a new tab/window.

    (w X 3) top10-broadband (dot) co (dot) uk
    (w X 3) comparebroadbanduk (dot) com

We need a design for the main page, and also a search results page and a content page (search results to have a content box at top, a space for results below, content pages can be almost the same)

optimised for a res. of between 950 and 1000 px

So, feel free to show your works here!!! :)

There may well be repeat work for the right applicant.

    Please provide these details:

Timescale to complete job if you win
Hours you are available for work if you win (for future projects)
Can you chop into VALID html/css (all css in external sheet)

Seems pretty clean so far :) - Looking forward to seeing how you make it progress, - but obviously I need to give everyone a chance :)

One thing I should say, the three boxes you have, One will be a search box, rather than anadvert boxe... so, postcode search for bband services, The other two, one wil; be a mobile broadband advert (to go to our mobile bband page, of course!) The other will be an advert for Broadband and Phone/Digital TV deals (tick box for selecting which you wish to select etc) - Just thought that bit of info would help :)

Thanking you for all yours efforts so far,

    Petra.

I haven't continued with the design, but will do soon.

From a designers point of view, I feel that the 'Postcode Search' etc would fit a lot better in the blue area of the design, rather than underneath. I think having them in the three boxes below will 'throw off' the design.

But you're the CH, so it's your decision. Let me know.

    Josh

Hmmm I see your point. The only thing is, the postcode search is the big earner for us, so we need to make it prominant somehow - I am open to ideas, as always :)

I think I'll participate and post some designs in next days. However it would be easier if you would provide more info about content of your page for ex. names of searchboxes and other main elements. You show us examples of competitors sites but I guess you won't provide the same names of searchboxes etc. I mention about it only because our (competitors) ideas and samples we provide can be far different from real data you gonna put on your site and well... sometimes it just can not fit.

I think 6 days is more than enough time, that's how long contests run for on average.

Btw, I'll make sure I post an update today.

Due to PMs asking me for more time, I am extending the contest until thurs 26th. - That will be the final deadline though! To be considered as a potential winner in the contest, you need to submit your entry before 4:00pm GMT on Thursday 26th.

Cheers for everyone involved so far!!!

    Charles.

    UPDATE:

I had a PM asking about what categories I would need for the site, here is a direct copy/paste of my reply - so everyone has the same info!!!

    "
If you mean what categories will be on the homepage, the main bit needs to show a postcode search box for broadband checking.

Then there needs to be an articles box, for headlines of our most recent articles.

We also need a navigation bar, with space for around 6 links (2 word anchors for most links)

Then we need a little space for some content on the page.
    "

    Contest Closed!!!

Nobody managed to submit a full design, despite several 'push backs' of the dealine...

Gone with a standard open source approach, because we are now behind schedule!!!

    Please close thread mods, thanks!!!
