mediawerkz Over once a suitable logo has been found, no time limit as such Chewysmom, Lalucochin, Xavier_3D, jokomamamita, att_kiara, DevilishBoy, aymenbnr, lejka, dimitri123 Not what I'm after sorry, feel free to refer to the examples in the .txt document for logo styles that I'm after for this logo. spbx, you_love_me44 Looking good, can't think of any more feedback for these putry_poe Shape is pretty good, I don't like how it comes together, perhaps it's too clipart-y? Not sure of the best way to explain, perhaps its the colour, sizes, fonts; or a combination of these. LogoPepper 2nd one is pretty decent mediawerkz I don't like the font, but the concept could work ----------------------------------------- Everyone feel free to refer to the examples in the .txt document for logo styles that are trying to be achieved for this logo.
Thanks ! I'd love to work exclusively with you, just let me know. If you do decide to choose mine, I'll provide a .psd, .jpg, and .ai of the logo, as well as whatever mediums you request.
Here are some good examples: http://www.neatorama.com/2008/02/07/the-evolution-of-tech-companies-logos/ Some of these logos, like Microsoft, have been used for decades and they still look good. This is what I'm after ... 10 years time it will still be good, not one of those logos which were cool at the time but are now very out of date (*cough* web 2.0 ). Canon's logo is over 50 years old and still isn't bad
Canon (or Microsoft, Sony, Panasonic etc...) spent millions of bucks to promote this brand for years. It's not the design, it's brand building! You can't get the same effect instantly only by design!
No it's not. Look at Canon's logo, it still looks good. If I had to guess, I would say it was designed in the last ten years for sure. 1954 - did they even have TV back then? Think of how far everything has come since then, yet their logo stays good. That isn't anything at all to do with promotion, it has everything to do with designing in a classic (though plainer) style, opposed to throwing a bunch of effects based on what's "in" at the time. Take Microsoft's logo, you can't get one much easier than that, yet 15 years on it's still nice.
Whilst I agree with Neonic that promotion aids a logo becoming a household brand that is remembered, I also have to agree with rochow that it's not the promotion that makes a logo "Timeless". I use the term timeless because it's the simplest way to describe a corporate brand. A timeless logo does NOT rely on a current trend or fashion to remain practical. There are a few timeless logo concepts in this contest that I've seen already. So besides a logo being timeless in this contest one must also keep in mind that in a contest format it's the contest holders personal opinion that wins over everything else. Whilst several may adore one timeless entry, the CH may not care for it at all, which then calls for more concepts until one actually peaks interest. Sorry rachow, just had to add my 2 cents...... I must say though that there are a good amount of entrants to this contest so far, I'm eager to see what other ideas people come up with
Yep, I also have a few family members and friends looking at them, and they're not exposed to the internet much, so anything web 2.0 style they've all pretty much not liked in comparison to plainer, more classic ones. That style/trend hasn't taken off much outside of the internet. That's why although I don't mind a few web 2.0 ones, they don't have much of a chance of winning given they don't appeal to the wider audience. Here are a few more good ones: http://www.instantshift.com/2009/01/29/20-corporate-brand-logo-evolution/ Some just get "touched up" along the way - the core stays the same which is what branding is all about.
Revised concept After going over the feedback again, viewing your recent samples, & pondering over my initial concept I decided that it was a bit too complex to be timeless, So I picked it apart & ended up with a very simplistic N along with a single cloud curve going through it to help insure that the icon can withstand the tests of time. Feedback appreciated
Yep it is looking better. Can the 9 at the end be more pronounced? It looks a bit out of place at the moment, perhaps because it's slanted and less bold than the text.
My main concern with this would be it's not obvious it's a 9. If you know what you're looking at the 9 is fairly obvious, if you don't know it's called "nuvola9" you'd think its Nuvola with a swirl on the end.
Revised concept changed out the 9 with a thicker / bolder one (Note: I'm not using the main fonts 9 as it looks exactly like a ~~> "g" <~~), I felt it would confuse the consumer. Feedback Appreciated
Can you try a few variations of the 9, not liking that font too much. Yep, the numbers in that font look bad unfortunately.
Looks good, is it possible to make the N9 smaller somehow? It's too big right now in comparison to the text.
