I agree. The logo, while profesional in it's appearance, doesn't remind me of anything related to branches. It will confuse your potential customers about the name of your company and it simply connects with absolutely nothing. This is why professionals run companies' marketing departments lol. Congrats on the winner anyway. I'm not bitter, just confused and amused :D

After reading your comment, i am pretty amused myself.
I used a part of a pattern that resembles an abstract branch, and also include a "b".
The icon i've created can be used in various ways for the visual identity of the company.
It also hits the points of "connect" and "b" , which is the initial of the company.
At this point, it's clear to me you know nothing about branding.
I am not here to argue, i am here to work, i suggest you use more of your energy on producing than talking on topics you are not experienced enough to discuss.
If you got something serious you would like to tell me, i am listening, if not, please stop wasting your time, my time, and everyone else's time.
    Thank you. Artangent.

LOL...you're only wasting your time by reading and writing about a comment that you don't like, because obviously it bothers you. It's just my professional opinion (17 years experience designing), which I have the right to express if I like. If you don't like it, go about your business lady. You won the contest, congrats! :D

still reads 'dp' unless u cut the tail of the 'p' then it will be 'db' that has nothing to do with 'branch' ... maybe the CH try to ask people's opinion.. like 20 persons and post it at facebook that 'dp' logo... then let see...

At the end of the day, we have to respect the winner and let businesses learn from their own experiences. The contest winner is in general a good designer. Let's let the CH sit on his decision. The point is that he really really likes his logo for now. And that's his decision to be respected.
