    If that's the case (just offering a discount to existing customers), wouldn't it be more efficient to post the deal on your site since they are already there?

    You could make the same argument for a spammer spamming iPhones. They aren't "selling" anything, they are just giving people the opportunity to save money. Which would be totally true, assuming they were already buying iPhones from them... but again, it would be more efficient to post the discount/deal on their site since they are already there.
