Sorry, I think you misunderstood my comment

I didn't mean I wasn't trying. Not in the slightest. I was talking about the border around the header. I made it simple because I didn't know what look you were going for, so I wanted to start off with a basic template and then build on it. Anyway, I will be re-entering with my new design soon :)

No problem. Sometimes I can also be misunderstood (I find that happens a lot with my wife). Personally if I was a designer (which I am not) I would do a relatively basic design to see if I am going in the right direction and then I would continue. The way your design is it wouldn't be one of the finalists only because I have some stronger entries. If I didn't run a contest I would then ask you for changes to make this work. I'm not sure if I am making sense

I'm sorry to say, I won't take part here. I don't have time for that & I see one very strog design (probably will be the winner). It would be too hard to beat! lol :D

No problems dude. To be honest, there are some strong entries but I haven't decided on "The One" yet.

Here's my try. Hope it's worth it.

There are three rows in there. In 1st row I tried to fit in the welcome msg and "WORLD CLASS PROTEINS".
In the 2nd row I lined up 3 rectangles to save more space. Then the 3rd row is another lineup.
With this design I think it's possible to see the whole page at once without needing to scroll down too much.

Forgot to put "We now import a premium WPC made entirely from a single source of Grade A American milk."
I'll post the revision later. :) I'd love to hear some feedback.

Thanks much for your input. :) Apologies for not updating it sooner and gettign back to you, but our car's brakes went out yesterday and my husband and I spent yesterday working on repairing them. (Gotta admit, I've NEVER heard of proportioned brakes before until yesterday)

I will make those changes and submit an updated entry!

Here is an updated entry. Still a tiny bit incomplete....I am trying to add in some little effects and such to just give it that "oomph". Anyways....feedback would be appreciated. I made it a lot redder, but not too red. :)

Wow. Thanks guys for the new entries. This is going to be a tough one and I believe I will try and decide on the finalists in the next day or so and then it's up to the finalists to decide whether they go further and compete for the "prize"

So If anyone else is interested now would be the time to enter as I will be picking the finalists in the next day or so.
Please note, and this is addressed to every designer: by me providing feedback I don't mean to ask you for changes. I am only providing feedback and it's up to you whether you do those changes or not. My current mission: just providing feedback.

tsoft: thanks for the entry. Very pleasant, very stylish entry. I can't really fault it. Also nice shades of red. If this wasn't such a tough competition I would hire you to complete this site for me. Unfortunately for you there are some very strong entries on this thread.

fenzo: thanks for the submission. Sometimes it works to take a gamble and do something different. I appreciate you taking a different approach with a very big logo but sorry to say it's not doing it for me. I think that is because the logo seems to overpower the whole image.

If I missed anyone please let me know.

hetzenauer: again, looking good and I like it. I will let you know once I decide on the finalists. I appreciate the effort.

greenleaf: I hope the brakes are working now. I really feel for your husband. For a woman it's a bit like your washing machine not working (or maybe nothing can be as distressing as a washing machine not working :) ). Very distressing. Regarding the feedback: I like it and it's a pleasant entry. Again I am not asking for changes but I think you missed a very important point which I keep bringing up. Not many designers picked up on this but I was asking for a LANDSCAPE design. Your pleasant looking rectangles/windows are in a portrait format and I prefer a landscape format. I also think that the welcome window should have been above the rectangles. I appreciate the try and I will let you know once I decide on the finalists.

zmaja: mate you've got style. One of the very top entries though not fully there. Maybe it's me be being a little old fashioned but I am not sure about those bubles. Some of the guys I showed your design to really liked it (and so did I). Very stylish and besides the bubles liked by everyone the only request would be if you could make the design a little more landscapish. For example, if you go to this site what I absolutely love about it is that you can almost see the whole information without scrolling down. That is what I absolutely love: just a click and the "whole first page" appears without scrolling down.

sorenson: it looks good. I will let you know once I decide on the finalists and right now yours is one of my favourites though I will request some changes once I decide on the finalists. I will come back with more feedback once I choose the finalists but that pink isn't really doing it for me. It makes a little feminine and I also sell to men. Hopefully you can see my point :) We live in a sexist world where pink is still a woman's colour he he.

Haha - we actually don't have a washing machine. I took that money for it and bought some new computer parts instead. I just do it at the laundromat next door - we can wash all of our laundry for about $8.

As for the design, I'll try to do more of a landscape. Its at 1024 width...so I can go a bit wider...
Pink is my least favorite color... /shudder

There's still time ASM. However, in no more than 24hrs from this post I want to choose the finalists.

    Here's some more feedback:
cyristine: thanks for the entry. I like the red and white scheme but I am not sure about the way you positioned those rectangles. It just looks a little plain. Also I don't really like how you placed the logo at the top. I think it's too big and by placing it in the middle that means there is a lot of wasted space as you cannot place anything next to it (on the same line).

tsoft: I appreciate the offer. Because this is a very tough contest I think I may end up wasting your time by asking for changes. Yes if I give you some more directions it will definitely improve the design but it may not be enough to win against other entries. I hope you can see my dilemma. Nevertheless if you insist I will provide more feedback as long as you are aware you are up against some very strong entries which may be tough to win.

badmasketa: thanks for the new entries. They both look good but the only probelm is this is a very tough contest. I can't fault your designs and I am sure they can be improved with some more feedback but I feel it still won't be enough to beat some of the other top entries. Please don't think I am asking for changes but I would have just rounded the corners of the rectangles and perhaps I would have made the main text box a little more landscape and then I would have placed great price reduction and the rectangle with the bag ynderneath the main rectangular text box. I also would have made these two rectangles more landscape. But this is a very tough contest.

greenleaf: you must be the luckiest woman in the world: living next to a laundromat. Life (for a woman) just couldn't get better than that.
