Contest $15 Simple Header Contest

I need a header designed for a new site i'm working on. the site is not up yet but i'm attaching the PSD file for your reference.

Regarding the header, it will have the full site name that is

It will also have the tagline and 3 words as you see on the PSD.

I need a simple logo for the URL where the URL will be just text with some design element/image on the left that resembles the article submission site. I was looking to see if I could find a few example and ran into these designs which are similar to what I'm thinking.

How you will space the URL/Tagline etc is upto you. i dont have any specific choice on that, as long as the header looks nice and all the elements are evenly spaced out, thats all matter.

One thing you will notice that the "O" on the word "HOT" is on fire. The letter O needs to be burning.

Infact, there will be an additional $5 award for the winner if the designer chooses to make the O with fire animated (not mandatory). This animation is not the part of the contest so no one has to do it till a winner is selected.

I dont have any specific end date to rush anyone but I dont want to drag this one for long either. Hoping to close within 2-3 days timeframe.

thanks for your entries. not really what i expected...too plain and the letters are even hardly visible on the first entry. second entry is way off.

in terms f the animation for hot, only "O" will be on fire. i need the fire to be burning on the letter O but thats not part of the contest. the header is the main priority. please refer to the examples i've provided, i'm looking for something along the line

@kaczor92, just saw your entry after posting my feedback. image on the left doesnt represent article submissions. no tagline either and i need the header to be on the header part of the PSD file so that I can have a clear idea as to how it will look on the site.

UPDATE: the site where the header will go is now is uploaded with basic info

 

So you mean that the letters on my image are hardly visible? If I'll delete the sample it will be better... but if you want i can make another one for you and with previev...

thats great! i started to see some progress here

@kaczor92, your V2 is lot better and the pen with dripping ink is adding a nice pattern which looks nice. i'm however not falling for the font and not sure how it would look on my header with different color pattern. also, not sure where to add the tagline and other words.

@ Dz0tt, its just too plain and not something i had in mind. please refer 3 example i provided that were done here on DP under contest section. i need fonts to be commanding and standing out so that visitors can read it easily.

@ karimc48, your placement of all the elements is good. i however not falling for the font and the image on the left not going too well with the header

NOTE: the template has be uploaded on the site so that you can easily see how the site looks. PSD file was also attached so you i could see the designs being done on the header area to know how the header will fit into the site.

i understand the designs i used as examples are on white backgrounds, but those are just examples. it however shows how dominating the fonts are.

waao! contest is running for only little over a day and i see lot of good designs already. at this point i will provide feedback to the ones that are coming close.

i see 2 designs on white background that looks nice on white and almost make me think of changing my site background to white but my theme designer will probably kill me if i want to do that considering that the PSD is designed and the site has already been coded

@ logosdino, i like your design but the blue color will not go well with the site as the main color of the header background is pretty much the same. i like the lower right corner one that will go well as a logo but that logo will go well on a white background. besides, there is not tagline or the full header for me to see how the entire header will look like. i also need .Net added to the logo/header

@ divineworld, a good entry but the black color is not going well with the header. also the right part of the header where it says article submission is hot, its kinda flat. not sure how to explain but might look different with a different color other than black. the fire on O looks like it was just placed over the O and not blended in properly

@ finalstraw, a good entry (top one) as well but again, on white background. damn! why didn't i get my site designed in white the way your current design is, i would pick it already if my site header had white background. you have all the elements properly spaced out and everything looks in touch. not really sure how it will look if i put it on my site. is is possible that you place that on my header background and see how it fits? also needs .Net added

thanks everyone for showing some good designs. its getting interesting and i started to feel the confidence that i will be able to get something good out of this
