This is an excellent post for those new to SEO, and it also serves as a reminder to experienced webmasters who may have overlooked a few of these. I think a lot of webmasters struggle in this regard and is the reason why most fail. Let's face it; it's not nearly as fun as the creation process, but a little hard work will go a long way! Kevin

Hey nice tips. But these tips can also be used for the old website, This is all about SEO tips which you have mentioned. Great work indeed. But the main factor for a website is to choose most popular keyword for website. You can choose keywords by Google Adwords
Did you just copy and paste this because it says I can find some directories here and they not linked.
If you are running a blog I would also include linking out (DO follow links) to other blogs or sites that will be helpful to your visitors/readers. I am not saying to link to your direct competitors but still. There are a couple of reasons for linking out: 1. It is useful for your readers and it tells them you are not afraid to send them out if it will help them. 2. All webmaster look at their back links - they will see the traffic from your website and might return the favor. 3. You agree disagree with the other blogger - you must not be afraid to pick up a fight (if you have a strong arguments on your side) or admit mistake (it is only human). Sparkling a discussion between blogs can help with your backlinks. But be VERY, VERY careful when doing so. Don't pick a fight for the fight itself as it WILL blow in your face.
Excellent information. The results about these steps will take some weeks and you can see with some SEO tools
how does link building effect your page rank? I thought I heard it makes it worse.. but not sure as I've only heard hear-say
When done right link building can only increase your PR. Think of it as a hole in a bottle of water - the bigger the hole, the more water is spilled. The same way - the bigger the PR of the linking page the bigger your PR gets. BUT if you are spamming or have lots and lots of links from bad (banned or flagged) domains you can your PR removed or get your site banned
