$15 header contest! Let's see what ya got!

The header will look the same no matter what the resolution user has. I've not included any image on extreme left as its position varies for different users with different resolutions. Feedback is appreciated.

AcidicLeo, great design! You bring up a very good point about the fixed a fluid. That is something I will have to keep into consideration. One thing about the logo you made is on the bottom left you have Richie Sexon who is gone from the M's and on the far right you have Raul Ibanez who will be gone in the 09 season. So those may need to get changed if I pick your header. I love it besides those two small things that I'm sure you wouldn't be aware of unless you follow the M's =).

 

I don't really get what you mean..
But if it is size problem it can be resize..

Yeah, to be very frank I was not even aware of Seattle Mariners as a team before I saw this contest.

I'll make the changes you have pointed out and will post the revised entry soon.

Edit: Can u plz tell me the players name starting from left-bottom (the guy holding the bat in left) and then moving in clockwise direction and ending at center guy . Also tell with which 2 player should I replace the images of Raul Ibanez n Richie Sixon.

 

I dont know whether I'll be able to explain it clearly but let me try.

Your design is fixed in size, right? Lets say its of 650px in width. It also has some team players image on its extreme right. Now if my resolution is something with 650px in width then your image will look perfectly fine with the it acting as header and covering the whole site's template. But say if my resolution is 1024*768 then your image will cover only 650px of width and then after it, the header will consist only of solid blue color and thus team players image will no longer be in extreme right but in somewhere center. The site's template is fluid so it will adjust itself accordingly to user's resolution but your image won't do it.

Resizing the image won't work because you can never be sure of user's resolution as there can be 100s of different resolutions.

I would also like to add one thing is that by no means I'm pointing any defects for your entry. Its one of the best in this contest, but just wanted to point out one cons of it. You can always try placing the image somewhere else.

And if its still unclear, then plz post your original header (only header) without site background and I'll show you what I mean.

 

As of this moment most people I've talked to have said this is the best. My only concern is the same as acid mentioned about the other. This is a fluid design. Can I see this be made into a fixed header?

My question would be....Are there still 640x480 viewers?
I think designers should move to 770 or 800...

Correct me if I'm wrong but 640 is so 90's...
