15,000 uniques/month $0 from affiliate programs IS IT RIGHT?

types of visitors are definately important, but I think that the most important thing is relevancy.
If you are not offering affiliate products that interest the site viewers then you are going to have a hard sell to get them to click let alone buy.

I think that relevant text links work the best.

 

I've had CJ going for about a month now. I have a humor site, so there's really no products that I can target well (I've been going with general things like Sony and Napster, etc...).

My click through rate has been phenomenal! One tenth of one percent (on thousands of impressions a day). OK, maybe not phenomenal... ;o) And, I've earned a total of $0.00 on like a hundred thousand impressions...

Makes you dream of the HUGE money AdSense throws your way! ;o)

 

hey, I dont know about your visitors, man, but I think your site is great! One tip though - perhaps you could go easy with the large fonts?

 

What ever happens, you will need to get at least one sale from CJ every six months. If you don't then you CJ account will be suspended and you will have to take all of the dead links of your site and replace them with new ones from somewhere else.

 

where is the traffic oming from? is it a bunch of 12 year olds or is it legitimate customers who might buy from you?

 

I would recomend a change in strategy for you to make money.

 

It ALL depends on the type of traffic, not the amount of traffic. Heck, you can make hundreds of dollars per day with less than 100 highly targeted visitors, or 0 with 10,000 non targeted visitors.
I've got a so so targeted traffic, so my affiliate program is making me (per click - sale commission/# of clicks) as much as AdSense does. So I am keeping it mainly for diversification.
