$15.000 correct price for premium site with $2000/month profits ???

For the past 1.5 years I have been running a website which has been extremely successful. It is a conversion service where people can upload a file and have it converted to another format.

I have now been offered to sell this site for $15.000. I want to know if this is in the correct price range or if I should expect more for this kind of site. Se detailed statistics in the image. Main points:

    a) 2500 unique visitors/day
    b) $2000/month
    c) almost no costs. no advertising. 60% search engine + some good backlinks.
no support - just make sure the server is up and running.

Is there any pitfalls that I should know about when selling the site? If we agree to make the transaction via escrow.com I should be safe and OK - correct?

Seems about right. Might be less if the niche is growing quickly/Blackhat and more if you/buyer see a way to grow quickly but $15k looks like a fair deal for both with information provided!

    Don't...

I wouldn't give such site up for $30,000.

I mean the income is constant and no work to do itself is double the cost of the website.

    Peace,

The people here saying this is a legitimate price, then quickly implying they are interested, are trying to flat-out scam you for a profitable website at a cheap price.

$100,000-$200,000 would be a legitimate price.

i believe that you could sell your website for at least 20k $. Since you don't have many expenses and your website doesn't require a lot of time to run it.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay so i'd say minimum would be the $15k that you have suggested, and the max someone would probably pay is $30k, just depends who's buying i guess!

Personally i'd go to a max of 10-12 months if it's very well established which would be $20-24k

if you can 2k a month, that is 24k a year. Let's say 20k a year profit. You shudl sell it for 10 or 15 times of that. So anyone invest in your web site get above CD (6%) return for some risk. 200k-300k. He can gain back his money in 10-15 years.

So your saying around 10% return per year based on $200k, personally i'd rather put the $200k in the bank and just earn 6% for the sake of 4%, all that risk, no thanks.

When a site is sold its usually the first years profits that the guys ask for.
(this is just by what i have seen at sitepoint forums)

    So if he is making 2000+ monthly then i would assume 12 x $2000 = $24,000

But there are many other factors to take into consideration
but i would say this would be "low ball park" figure.

    thx

I am a website business broker specialist - your site has a true market value at 2.5-3 times net profit for the latest 12 month period - so I would say $60,000 - $75,000 would be its current market value.

I would agree to malcolm1 comments, that your site value is about 24K, it could be more or less after we know more details about traffic origin, sources etc..

If is just passive income from adsense/affiliate, then around $25K.

If its income for text link sales etc., then quite less than that.

    But noway more than $35K.

Don't show your url or website to anyone on here or it will more then likely be worthless in a couple months

Also the 15 you are being offered is not a bad offer nor is it the best you can probably get but if you put it up for sale there is a chance copycat sites will go up then it will be worthless so the question is are you happy with that price do you need the money can you get this guy to offer you a little more our do you feel better just recieving the income each month without worries or hassels
