I came accross an awesome post on how I guy was making $15k a day from facebook flyers doing scholarship CPA promotions. http://www.shoemoney.com/2007/09/24/pwning-facebook-how-to-think-like-an-uber-affiliate/ Just shows how jumping on a new source of traffic quickly can really pay off!
Yea, that was an awesome post. Should show all you affiliate marketers that if you are doing something right than stop pussyfooting about it and 3x what you are doing by taking more risk!
First, if you don't know who Shoemoney is you haven't been in the biz long enough. Second, look at the date of that post, in affiliate marketing thats ages ago.
Always nice when you want to share some useful that someone finds a reason to put you down. I do know who shoemoney is and used to read his blog regularly. However, now I only stop by occasionally - I happened upon the above post and thought others who hadn't seen it might be interested in it.
the technique he used can no longer be done.... However Facebook traffic can still make really good money if it is done properly
I wouldn't recommended using affiliate links directly at all anymore...use redirects for several reasons... 1. A typical person browsing won't recognize a redirect link...they've started to pick up on http:// rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=1708504&mpre=http%3A%2F 2. Redirect links are easier to monitor and change within a few seconds...i.e. you are redirecting to one ringtone affiliate offer that isn't converting you can redirect to a different affiliate altogether without change your ad
postive, they only have ppc campaigns now that are not even worth the your time. You basically have to write the most boring add posible in order for it to run....
I've posted before about this. Facebook threatened legal action against those doing CPA offers for facebook. The more dumbarses do this, the more likely it is everyone will get sued. Think myspace boys.
It was fun while it lasted. I got lazy with it and even after that post I knew people making $1k/hour. Nobody is getting sued either.
Yeah, I know no one has yet. The threat is enough to make me think twice though. Or at least try and find a legit thing that converts on there(which is hard as hell to find). It all depends how much you trust Jon from WF. He's pretty well respected in most BH circles, and he says he got an e-mail from FB threatening it, and that the IP checked out. I'm not sure if I believe him, but it's enough to make me NOT do cpa offers on there. I'll find something better, or butt out. Also, I saw some pill/webcam ads up yesterday, which means the bigtime just hit, and FB is about to get kinda pissy.
Then people are idiots, it's an ADVERTISING platform ffs. What, pray tell, is the purpose of an ADVERTISING platform if it is not to make money/convert someone to a customer when people click through your Ad !?
