14 Days to Make a Sale: ClickBank Journal - Win the Website!

This is the second day of our Clickbank Journal.

Firstly, a very important part of any affiliate marketing campaign is choosing the domain name, there is one important domain name that you must try and register before any other domain name and thats just the product name followed by an extension, so for this product it would be;

forexmegadroid.net, forexmegadroid.org, forexmegadroid,info

however if like me you are unable to register the product name then I would either try adding "the" on to the start of the domain name or going for the product name with a hyphen in between each word, for example;

forex-megadroid.com, forex-megadroid.net, forex-megadroid.org

or

theforexmegadroid.com, theforexmegadroid.net, theforexmegadroid.org

however if all of these are registered too, which would only take a day or two with a decent product lanch then instead I would suggest adding relevant keywords to the end of the domain name, such as software, review, system, robot;

forexmegadroidrobot.com, forexmegadroidsoftware.com, forexmegadroidreview.com

As you can see, each of these domain names I have suggest include the product name this is VERY important if you want to rank in the search engines, and it also helps when trying to promote and sell the product as it looks less spammy than a generic domain name.

The domain name I chose was ForexMegadroidSoftware.com as the above was all registered already, so now I have my domain name, what next?

Well now its time to have a look through the affiliate material and set up the website.

I have to admit that the Forex Megadroid has not got a massive amount of affiliate material and you have to opt in to get your hands on this affiliate material, which I find really annoying but anyways.

Tip: If you find the product your promoting has very little affiliate material then I would recommend just taking their sales page and editing that in to either a landing/squeeze page or leaving it as it is and just adding a link straight to the payment page.


In this case I have taken their sales page and edited it slightly, I have then added a link straight to the payment page which looks like this;

http://1.USERNAME_fxdroid.pay.clickbank.net

If you do decide to use this technique I must warn you that only people that have not already got a cookie stored in their computer will go use your affiliate link, otherwise they will use the one which is stored in their computer. Also you cannot track the amount of hops you receive as it goes straight to the payment page not through their website.

So up to now I have registered a domain name, I have a website up and running and I have all the correct clickbank links in place. An important thing to do is check that ALL the links work on the page so you don't lose any potential sales.

The next step I did was by starting to write several articles, these articles were to be hard sale articles which basically explained what the product was, its features and the benefits to the customers. I would then link the articles in several places to my newly developed website.

The way I use these articles is by adding them to several different Forex forums which in turn create traffic and increase my chances of making a sale.

Today, I have written two 500-1,000 word promotional articles and added them to three Forex Forums, each including two links back to my website.

After I did this I also started my link building campaign to help with my search engine rankings for future use. SEO is something that would generally take more than 14 days to take effect so this isn't really a promotional technique I will be using in this journal however it is very useful for the future.

The way I build links is by submitting 250-300 word articles to ezine articles and after these have been accepted I submit these articles to several other directories, you can find more information about the way I use article marketing here;

The next step was to add the website to Google Webmaster Tools, so I can keep up to date with what keywords I am ranking for and which I am not, and also keep up to date with how many links Google counts towards my website. This is an easy process which involves a quick verification that you have access to the website.

I also submitted my website to Google Analytics, so I could track where the traffic was coming from which would give me a better idea of the effectiveness of each promotional technique. Submitting your website to Google Analytics is free and simple, it takes no more than 3 minutes.

To recap, up to now we have chosen the market and the product we are going to promote, we have chosen and registered the domain name and set up the website, we have added the site to GWT and GA as well as written several articles for promoting through the use of Forex forums and written several articles to submit to the popular article directories.

The next step we will cover, will be more promotionally focused as this is all we now need to do in order to make a sale. Each day from now on I will be writing the journal with hop results from each day until I make the sale.

Today I will be talking about the promotional techniques I am using to promote this Forex product, the ones that I know work and the ones that I am still testing the water with. However firstly I would like to make note that the domain I showed you yesterday, was not the one I am using for this journal, I added the wrong site instead its here;

Forex Megadroid

As you can see its a .com domain and it includes the keywords I am looking for, also as a bonus "Forex Megadroid Pro" gets approximately 5-8 searches a day so it could mean a couple more conversions each month, when I rank for that keyword.

Anyways, lets start with the more important stuff. No matter how good your landing page is, no matter how well the product that your promoting converts, no matter if there are one million or six billion people wanting to purchase the product you promote, unless actually advertise your landing page the chances of people actually landing on your website are very minimal, so you should realise that without promotion and advertising you would be wasting your time.

There are several ways to promote a Clickbank product and considering which market you choose there are different strategies and techniques which work better than others. For example, Yahoo Answers works quite well with Health related products however Forex products tend to not work as good mainly because the amount of questions regarding Forex robots is much lower. However Forex forums tend to work better in my experience compared to weight loss forums, so as you can see there are good and bad about each technique.

The promotion techniques I would usually use for a Forex product would be;

1. Article Marketing
2. Forum Marketing
3. Search Engine Optimisation
4. E-mail Marketing

Using these methods I can rake up 20-30 sales a month easily, with very little effort however its that constant little effort that you put in that pays off.

As we have just established the website, the optimisation is minimal a little on page optimisation but without off page optimisation this is useless therefore SEO is not a promotional technique we shall be using. It also seems unfair to use E-mail marketing because not everyone has a list of subscribers some of whom are willing to purchase a recommended Forex product.

So instead I shall be using Forum marketing, which in the past seems to have had great effects and Article marketing. I will also be testing out several other promotional techniques, such as USFreeAds (paid version) and Yahoo Answers (going to attempt this again).

With these promotional techniques alone we should be able to pull one or two sales from this promotion.

Now I am the kind of person that doesn't like to concentrate on just the one project, and if you know me already you will realise I have several projects on the go, I believe its best to spread yourself because if you concentrate on one project you are easily bored and demotivated if things are not going your way. Where as by spreading yourself about your able to move from one project to another and hopefully keep up your motivation. Therefore because of this I don't like to spend too much time each day on each project, some days I miss a project and spend more time on this another day.

Anyways, the point is that these techniques I will be discussing with you and showing you will be used with the maximum of two hours per day each, I may pay someone to write the articles for me however that costs $3.00 maximum per article. Yes, very cheap you just need to shop around a little.

So, what have I done today?

Today, I have been able to use Unique Article Wizard to submit an article related to the Forex industry and include a link back to my website. Now the actual benefits this will have for my website over the next 11 days will be minimal however this is for future search enigne optimisation use.

As well as this I have advertised my website and the product on several Forex related forums. If you are planning on trying this out then the best thing to do is a Google search "Forex Forums" register to the main ones on the first page and then get to know people a little after you have about 20 posts give some hints about your website and the product your promoting.

You don't want to sound too spammy however if other people are spamming all over the place and the forum is not under control then what the heck!

I have also registered for a Yahoo answers account as I have lost the details of my previous account. Top Tip, always keep account details in one file for future use, it saves time!

I am also researching USFreeAds and whether promoting the Forex product on there is worthwhile, what benefits it could bring, if it would be effective.

USFreeAds used to be a very good place to post an advert as the pages used to be ranked very well in the Search Engines however over the past several years the importance has declined significantly so the effect has dropped too.

To be honest it is a pretty simple marketing plan that I use for Forex marketing. I think people get a little to out of focus and are too busy trying to think outside the box when even the simplest, oldest, most used promotional techniques in the world still convert. I just plan on proving this to you, as well as helping anyone along the way.

Today has been a slow day and the way I have promoted the product today has not differed much to that of yesterday. I have been thinking and decided that straight after this journal ends I will be starting up another journal called "Article Marketing 101" the concept is that I will be promoting two products one from Clickbank and one from Neverblue (CPA) and I will be doing this through Ezine articles and UAW (Unique Article Wizard).

The 101 is because I will be submitting 101 articles over a 10 week period and updating everyone, every couple of days with the statistics and figures and whatever techniques I use.

The overall aim will be within the first month to receive;

1,000 views
100 clicks
10 sales

Per article, which will add up to $4,500 revenue with the smaller product which only gives a $4.50 commission however with the clickbank product sales too it will be higher.

Anyways, yeah just to mention it to you. I hope more people will be interested in that journal as more people seem to interested in journals which are more relevant to the wider majority instead of the minority. Anyways, back to the 14 days to make a sale journal the Forex market currently seems to be concentrating too much on the launch of the Forex Ivybot and the obvious market leader FAP Turbo instead of taking a look at the Forex megadroid, I think this has affected the interest and overall amount of traffic I have been receiving.

However today, I repeated yesterdays promotional techniques using Forums, adding an article to UAW however I left this to only do 10 submissions a day so obviously this will run over the journal duration.

I also checked out Yahoo answers today, however the amount of questions I can answer whilst referring people to the Forex product was minimal.

I really want to grasp the search engines with this website and promotion however I know I do not have enough time to do this, quite annoying as this is my usual main technique.

Anyways, as I mentioned today has not been very lively, I have been busy with a product launch I am currently doing too so the amount of time I have to focus on this is very small however things are going steady but well.

Tomorrow, I plan on finding several new areas to promote the product in and want to test them out.

FAP Turbo, Forex Megadroid and Forex Ivybot.
