    Thanks guys..It's been two days working from home on my sites. To give a feel of it, it does get monotonous at times. But there are people around me..So, I take frequent breaks to keep myself working for 9 hours of the day. Aah, still feels like I will be completing my 'vacation' and going back to my office soon..why is it just not sinking in.. :D

    Good luck. I think you could have still kept both jobs and done just fine. Your decision though.

    Hi Pudge

    Your statement echoes what many of my friends have told me too. But having spent one week now working full time, I realize how much more focused I am..,and how much productivity I am adding..A self-imposed 9-5 work schedule working on my website is wonderful..

    Have not seen anything great in results. If anything, I have been earning 50 cents to 1 dollar lesser than normal..but that's fine..i adding so much of content now, and I see that Google bot keeps checking back on my blog to cache the new content every half hour to one hour..I am not kidding, its a new blog, but i have had static content on it for a long time..and now Google is checking in every now and then to update its cache..

    Hi guys,

    just saw this thread on my subscriptions list and thought I would update u up on wats happening..

    I have been slogging my A** off in the mornings on two websites. One of those is more of a hobby, and so want to push it in the evenings and I am looking to make a Joomla/Drupal based site soon..Continuous work has started showing mild results..My old website has now increased traffic by 10-15%, while the new website where I slog for 3 hours everyday adding content is now having 30 odd uniques everyday..Nothing to brag about, but this has all been without any SEO, without any promotion...just based on search engine traffic..

    Yes, if you can do it, internet is great. I see you have good self-will and can "impose" a regular "9-5" schedule for yourself. I predict success for you ! :)

    Sometimes working part time on a project can be de-motivating and you need to take that step further to give it your all. It sounds like you are doing this. Keep it up, although looking for results after 2 weeks? I would say you will be earning the same for the next 3 months unless you have a large reserve of funds or get some massive SEO boost.

    I would say review the situation in 6 months.

    Good luck and let us know how you get on. I am interested as I am thinking of doing the same.

    I havent had a regular job since March this year, concentrating my time on my own websites but have also been lucky enough to do websites for other people. Because of that im in the process of setting up my own web agency and will do my own sites inbetween site jobs.

    For a number of years I tried to do it part time and had the same result with too many ideas and too many half complete websites or parked domains. Just being too tired after work etc to do anything. So I have taken a handful of the ones that make some cash and concentrated on them.

    So far so good, but what has helped the most has been living in a country where the exchange rate is 1 to 8 on the doller:D

    ...also now that im working at home its quite common for me to do a 10hour + day!

    Good luck with it.

    It will be hard at times but you will prosper if you stick at it

    1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks all of u guys..will definitely keep posted..

    @Blue Star Ent.
    You are just speaking of what I am doing :)...i start at 9 and work till 5.30-6 with a few breaks in between..working alone all day needs periodic breaks to keep myself motivated...

    @Colin Behr.
    Yes I realize that. But one good thing is that I am on good terms with my ex-boss and have told him that i will be there next year if things dont go well..so, i think the only risk for me is the savings i would make in one year.. :)

    @simstar
    That was the plan, but having seen marginal improvements in traffic inside 20 days, I am just happy that things are going right.

    @BW1
    Go ahead bro..You'll definitely succeed. But like an advice i gave to another online friend of mine, do not just go with an idea of making money by doing websites for others...that's dangerous..keep working one website of yours which will make money even when you sleep..

    @uksmf and i-sell-manualsurf-credits
    thank you guys!
