Make sure all the backlinks are coming from site related to yours and also have high pagerank.

 

those backlinks wont mean much if they are all from unrelated niches. Try focusing on getting links from relevant sites.

20 backlinks from high weight relevant sites > 13,000 backlinks from crappy unrelated sites.

 

if you build the links to quickly or you are obviously buying links then you can be penalised, although when this happens you will not be on the front page of google.

Try to change your keywords. You can choose top keywords from google/adwords

 

If you trust in quality of those 13k backlinks then you must work on your website onpage SEO.

Keywords, page load speed, outbond links, ....

 

but I have a doubt, his/er site will not be on google front if s/he build the links rapidly right? That means Google ll catch him that s/he buying links.. If that so wouldn't Google just send the site to Sandbox right way? So, the site ll not be showing at all..but his/ers is showing just ranked bellow...

His maybe more credible backlinks......and he may have a facebook/twitter account that helps.

 

You need to ask yourself the question how many of those 13k backlinks are quality in your eyes, forget about quantity, nowadays anyone can get 130k backlinks without worry and no much harm to the wallet, so those gets discounted very fast, you need to build links carefully and there are other varied factors affecting your rankings, may be showing the website can be a good idea and you might get clear and precise answers to your question.

A possible reason could be that you accumulated those 13K links in a very short time, which could have penalised your site, or those 13K links possibly have been penalised, and your site along with them

 

It depends on what kind of website are you comparing. If you compare a static page with no new content and 13k bad backlinks and one with pr 0 and 0 backlinks with new content daily its kinda obvious isnt it?

To increase PR of yours site you need to do social bookmarking on high PR site

 

One guality link which is related to your site's theme can beat 500 spammy links, so never go for quantity but for quality. If you are ranking on top page that means you do have some links that helps you.
Also PR has a very less or may be even no importance these days in google's serp position.
Try to go for article submission like ezine,goarticles,articledashboard.
You should always try to get a contextual text links inside the body of the article or post. It helps a lot to gain rankings especially in google.

Just to let you know i have beaten one of my clients competitor with 500 quality links with good onpage. competitors had 80k links but most of them were footer links, so just believe me quality is more important rather then quanity.

 

Page Rank is a useless metric that Google has axed that has nothing to do with SERPS and everything to do will selling advertising/selling website/selling Links. So you could have PR4 and still get beat by PRO and it seems obvious that you Links are crap. Again PR4 links mean nothing authority site site and niche related site mean way more. I also believe very strongly that Local links weigh heavily. I also believe that variety of links is important; IE directories,articles, web2.0, blog comment( if real and niche related) , blog writing, squiddo, social bookmarking , social media ,and more
