I applaud social bookmarking for getting web pages indexed quickly in google. The problem is that you can get a false sense of conversions because social bookmarking sites send an abundance of non-targeted visitors.

Now this does depend solely on the niche or type of website. Social bookmarking is fabulous for news related and gossip blogs/webistes. For people that are affiliate marketing with review sites or a specific clickbank product, you will need to keep in mind that the jump in visitors from digg and others won't necessarily mean you should be seeing a jump in sales.

More visitors, for the most part, are never a bad thing. I just wanted for people to know that their conversion percentages may drop and it should be expected and to not get discouraged after applying social bookmarking from their SEO plan.
