13 clicks from 28 impressions in 1 hour

Today adspy reveals I've had 13 clicks from 28 ad impressions on one of my sites, all coming from the same IP address, all within the same hour. The ads featured on 4 pages. This IP address hasn't recorded any clicks before, so do I regard it as suspicious, and should I report it? Google has apparently credited me with the clicks which amount to nearly $10.

I wouldn't report it unless it continues to go up that click count.

It appears they have all come from 1 visit. As I say, I run adspy. This channel earned less than $10 for the whole of last month, so today's clicks are a bit unusual. What is the Google contact address please?

I wouldn't trust adspy that much, but it's your account, report it if you feel like it...

I get scared when i see my adsense reports and see clicks with no earnings, huge spikes of clicks with no traffic associated etc..

You'd want to cantact adsense directly. Try this: adsense-support@google(dot)com

I know what you mean about adspy, but on this occasion I can see the guy working his way through all my pages on the site, methodically clicking every ad. All the ad url's appear to be different, so he's not clicking several times on the same ad, so I don't think it's someone trying to get me banned. The ads are all tightly targetted and they apparently pay well!

    I've emailed google anyway.

It could be that someone is genuinely searching for something and the right kind of ads just happen to be on your site. I would keep an eye on it for a few days. I've had one or two mini spikes like this before and I know I've clicked several ads on other people's sites when I've been searching for something in particular.

Yes chris20492002, the Google account is showing the same number of clicks.

I agree Trisha, someone may have just been browsing and found all the ads interesting, but I just wonder if that is accepatable to Google?

I've emailed them anyway, let's see what they say. If they find nothing wrong, well that's ok by me, but I'd like to be sure that's all.

That is almost 50% click rate by one person. Sounds like person trying to get you banned. Email adsense they will be more understanding if you tell them first.

I haven't heard anything back yet. There's been no recurrence of the same IP address clicking anything of mine today, so maybe it was just someone interested in the subject matter.

You can use adlogger to monitor who is clicking which ads. You can go to www.adlogger.org to download the code and use in your site. Its not 100% correct as adsense reports but somewhat can able to track the ips if have multiple clicks from same ip.
