One of my sites goes from PR0 to PR4, while the one that had major boost previously (PR0 to PR6) has its pagerank reduced to PR5.

No updates to old sites but inner pages that had PR in Feb. have lost it while inner pages that had PR in Sept. 2005 kept the same PR as did my home page.

A new site went to PR4.

The PR updates that happened this year have been odd, but this one takes the cake.

Nothing much for my websites but one of them dropped from PR4 to PR3. Damn! That's the website that I am about to more actively advertise and concentrate on.

IMHO this PR update is either incomplete or incorrect. Like many others, one of my sites (less than 6 mths old) went from PR0 to PR4. I did not do much on this site, and objectively speaking, it does not warrant such a PR, while my main site which I worked hard on has had its backlinks slashed to 15%, internal PR from 2 to 0, homepage PR stable. I'm hoping that the update is ongoing and has not reached its final conclusion.

This update has definitely not reached its final conclusion because-

    (1) Many old sites have still not been updated with PR
    (2) Many websites that did not deserve the PR they got have got it
    (3) A LOT of websites have still not got the Pagerank they were hoping for, in fact incredibly less from that

    1. Old websites not resorting to artifical link building ..are having PR updated

    2. Who told you they didn't deserve it??? .... Did Google?? Where do you believe then that this is a valid statement to post? Have you substanial evidence to prove such or knowledge of the inner workings of Google?

    3. Most probably went out artifically link building believing it would help build Google PageRank and now see that such is not the case.

    Hope this helps...

Don't understand why you guys are so interested in PR! Who really cares about PR? If you don't get any hits why does PR mean so much to you? Selling links? You can't sell links even if you have a high PR if you don't have any traffic?

    i fully agre with you

traffic is the result of real ( natural ) popularity thanks to good content
good content automatically brings popularity on other websites, forums, blogs, etc
sooner or later there also is a natural PR resulting from thousands of daily happy site visitors

Maybe you guys have been trapped under a rock for awhile but you can sell links without any traffic at all and soley based on PR. Infact loads of people do.

fourshapes is too new and worthgetting looks like it's been banned.

Sites that had PR before 04/04 still aren't getting updated and if you keep asking why yours isn't getting updated either I'm going to f'ing scream.

Show me. That sounds like some sort of bs you read on ihelpyou.

He's talking, as far as I know, about the inflated PR that many people received on 04/04. All of those sites had their PR corrected this update. So, yeah, we guessed it was inflated months ago, and Google just told us we were right by taking it away.
Define artificial. You mean, like, plastic or naugahyde? The links failed to come with a Certificate of Authenticity?

In certain cases it does appear as if Google has blocked a few certain sites from passing PR or benefit. Very few.

MikeSwede, are you really interested why? I mean, do you really think that selling links from higher PR sites is the only reason someone would care? PM me if you're curious, but don't bother if your only intent was just to say "Damn, you guys are stupid".
