by the way... one of those sites is nearly 2 years old... never had a PR before, and now has PR3, so that thing about ONLY sites that were fucked up last time having being updated can't be true

Well the page rank has many factors not only does it includes the pages passing the PR but also your page passing them to other pages that you have on your page...

    PR Sandbox?

I didn't read the entire thread, but if it's the new sites that get updated and benefit the most, it looks like another Sandbox!

    Right?

    :)

Probably more than that. I've seen PR9's advertised for $2000 or more per month, say at a very conservative estimate you sell for $500 per month.

    10 links per page X 2 = 20 x $500 = $10,000 x 3 months = $30,000
    Not bad money :)

My site went live last month and it's managed to get a PR4 with 27 backlinks. Competitor switched servers and dropped to a PR3. His backlinks are at 89.

Despite the move, my rankings went down today across the board. Go figure. Google loves me. She loves me not. Other sites remained the same, save for my personal blog that is now a PR3.

I'm happy with PR4 for a one month old site.

My backlinks took a hit from 1260 to 874 on my main site. Competitor shows 4500 backlinks. From a chart on MarketLeap, it shows a doubling of backlinks. Please tell me that I shouldn't pay too much attention to the link:www.site.com command on Google. I did some significant link building since the last update, so I'm surprised to say the least.
