ok, here is my entry... thanks for this contest.. hope u get what u want ... (the contents will be formatted ajax/js if chosen)... 100% unique template... this also comes with a leaf favicon... the ones that the frogs ride on while in ponds heheh...
tanay46 & debitcredit: Thanks for the submissions. I'll comment on them later in the day. Anyone else working on anything?
tanay46: I appreciate the submission, but it's really not what I'm looking for. It's much too plain. Looks like a very bare boned template. debitcredit: Not bad at all. Needs a few modifications. 1) I like the frog graphic. Unfortunately, I'm looking for something that more resembles a toad. Any chance you can change that? At least change the color (haven't seen any green toads). Also, make the "frog/toad" graphic and header area a little smaller. Right now it takes up at least a third of the page. I don't want the user to have to scroll down to read all of the text on the page. 2) The "Win CASH, ..... Future of Internet" text is too plain. Plus that text should be replaced (my mistake) with "Weekly Drawings"; "Win Cash"; "Win Prizes"; "Win Gift Cards"; "Your Prize Entries Increase Each Week"; "No Purchase Necessary". It's not necessary to have all the text lined up underneath each other or even all in a straight horizontal line. You have a lot of room to work with. Try and jazz it up some. You can use graphics text, icons/graphics, alternate layout positioning, etc. Give it some pop -- maybe add a few images of cash (or $$$ signs), prizes, gift cards, etc. So when the page first loads users should be immediately drawn to the fact that this site can win them cash and prizes. 3) I'm OK with you breaking the main page into multiple page, but at least some prize winners should be listed on the home page. You don't necessarily have to show the entire list, like on my version, but I'd like users to see some of the awarded prizes as soon as they reach the site. 4) A few changes are needed in regards to layout, buttons, etc.. But those can be addressed when you do the coding, should you win. Also a question. What do you mean by, "the contents will be formatted ajax/js if chosen"? Since this is a three day holiday weekend here in the US, I'm going to extend this contest to Friday the 29th.
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it. I think mine was too corporate and professional, while you wanted a fun entry.
thanks for the feedback... i was looking forward to this... thanks so much... hehe... 1.) i can make another frog/toad... 2.) i'll try to make changes ASAP... 3. to last) u don't know ajax? uhmm... lemme give u a hint/clue... uhmm... the content page will not be broken into multiple parts/pages, but it will be only inside one page, with multiple contents... uhmm... try searching in google or somewhere to check what's ajax technology means... hehe... thanks for the feedback... working on the revision... heheh... thanks! gonna change it to some kinda brownish-green stuff hehe... do u see any problems with regards to the footer?
I can design only if you can get a coder. Coding is not my speciality. PM me, if you need my services.
debitcredit: Re: Using Ajax The site is currently coded using php / mysql. I'm not sure I want the development platform changed. Partly because I'm not familar with Ajax, like I am with php, so modifications would be more difficult for me. Also, I did some research and using ajax has some significat drawbacks. Such as those detailed in this article: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/programming-and-development/?p=629. Comments?
php/mysq or html/xhtml can go together with ajax/js... i'll do my best to code almost done with the revision... thanks... or check this link HERE! gonna post my work in few hours... thanks...
JavaScript and AJAX aren't replacements for PHP/MySQL. You can use them to perform actions after the page has loaded without loading the page again.
debitcredit: Thanks for the clarification and for the link. Lot of good information there. Stuff I can take advantage of when doing my own development. austin-G: Thanks for the submision. Not really what I'm looking for though. Design is too plain and I don't care for the header graphics or the dark background. I appreciate your comment regarding AJAX.
here's a revision without the content area... still thinking of a style... hoping for ur feedback... thanks...
AbhishekS: Thanks for your submission. With the exception of the header area, your design looks practically identical to what I have now. That being said, I really like the header design. It's simple, clean and immediately gets across the purpose of the site. That in itself makes yours my 2nd favorite, after debitcredit. debitcredit: That's looking better. Hold off on any more work. I have a good idea what you can provide. We can work out final design details if you win. Right now you are easily in 1st place.
ok i will be more creative Submission #2: Recent winners bg looks like its cut off from the main content. Update 2:
