$125 Web Design Contest! Ends in 72 Hours

There is nothing to Rip off. If you go look into the original site that was given to us to look had the same look. When i started to do my template, there was no entry on this thread, i told the CH that i am starting something and also asked him the kind of version he wants, and he said it has to follow the current site design and also told me that he wants all the products listed below. So please look into my works before speaking about, i have no intentions to rip off someone. I have been on this field for more than 5 years and i don't have to Rip something to win something.

If you could go to Template monster, then i can show you a dozen of template that looks similar to yours and mine. Does that mean we rip someone's design, you can ask the CH if you want. I don't have to prove me right, because he knows what happened.

does that mean that Open Office is a rip off from microsoft office ?

does that mean that linux gui distros are ripoffs of windows or apple ?

does that mean that overstock auctions is a ripoff of ebay auctions ?

I see similarities at best in the general layout.

that does not make it a rip off.

it would behoove anyone thinking differently to send via pm instead of posting to the forum, but it was their "choice" to post to the forum and not send via pm, so whos fault is it really that any similarities exist ?

i dont see any ip infringement and it wouldnt stand up in a court of law.

I also PM'ed the CH about the concept that he thinks is the best. He gave me certain ideas and i followed it. I didn't even know that such a entry was made. So there is no reason saying this as a Rip off.

Sure thing dude, but i would like to know how should your plan's page should look. Because there are a lot of products available. I see free hosting, Shared and also Dedi's and Reseller's so i don't understand what should be listed and what should be not. Can you provide some more info on this .

The CH can decide for himself what is fair.

If you truly hadn't seen my template before you started designing, and that it is just a total coincidence, then no hard feelings, I merely posed that both templates were extremely similar.

As Promised, here is my updated entry:

 

I am not taking part in the contest nor do I know any of these people. I gave a 3rd person view and i thought the designs were Very similar.

Although if it was a total coincidence and wasn't done in bad faith, my apologies.

Hey Guys before I announce the winner I would like to say that all entries posted here are absolutely amazing, It was a very hard contest to judge and me and my boss has come to a decision.

We have declared the winner to be deebong, we have chosen this design because we like the corporate web 2.0 look to it. Also he has added many features to his entry that we were looking for but didn't include here. For this and his hard work he was awarded the winner.

Next week we will be having another contest for our main company site, since this success of this one my boss has told me to arrange another contest. I will be posting the details for that contest once I receive them from my boss.


Once again I would like to thank all of you for participating, I never realized how many talented designers there really was out there.
