It really "pays" to enter my contests!
Even if you don't get 1st place, you still have 4 other chances for cash!

This is a 7-day contest for a complete redesign of an existing home page. Aside from the requirements below, the design is completely up to you. Be creative! Show off what you can do! I've seen many amazing designs in this forum by incredibly talented designers.

You must email to me all images, psd(s), AND finalized html.

1st place = $125
2nd place = $50
3rd place = $40
4th place = $30
5th place = $20
(I reserve the right to not award all 5 prizes if there are not 5 designs that I like.)

This contest ends on Sunday, June 24 at 5:00 PM, PST.

Requirements:

1. No submissions via PM; to be considered, you must post your design in this thread

2. Educational/writing/student theme; everything must tie-in to your overall design

3. Must accommodate the existing home page's text and links

4. Very unique, custom logo

5. Custom header image (800 pixels wide x 100-150 pixels high) that includes the logo at the far left

6. Redesigned html at 800 pixels wide (table centered)

7. Your menu(s) must have editable text so that I can easily/quickly make changes whenever I wish

8. Attractive, vibrant colors; not boring

9. Redesign the existing PayPal image (must somehow communicate "payment security"), credit cards image, and [Es sa yFr aud] logo

10. The new price of the service is $34.99, so please remember that when making the custom PayPal image

11. I favor designs that are W3C-compliant

12. You agree that after I pay you, the copyright of the design is 100% mine. You may not sell it (or a lightly edited version) to anyone else--ever.

Can I ask, do we have to code W3C-compliant coding right away or a tabled spliced html can suffice and later be converted by another coder into W3C type.

It's up to the contestants when/how they want to code the html, but I cannot send the PayPal award until I receive the images, psd(s), AND the coded html.

I'm going to start working on something now, and I'll have it finished by tonight or tomorrow morning. (Currently 12pm where I am).

Do you have any colours you'd prefer to be used, or layout styles? Minimalistic? Clean? Busy? Funky? Fun? etc etc.

Good question, DustyDog. I like blue/grey/white combinations, but the winner of my previous contest did not use ANY of those colors. Nothing is set in stone. I like creativity more than anything else. As long as the colors are attractive, "happy," and vibrant, I'll be interested.

You are free to work with a coder and pay him/her a portion of your winnings, but I absolutely need the html. I can judge your design uncoded, but if you win, I will pay only if I receive complete html with the images/psd.

PinkMisfit, those don't interest me at all. I don't want anything to do with templates. I can throw together a template myself. Why would I pay for that? This is a contest for UNIQUE, CUSTOM designs.

 

UPDATE:

1. Please do not take an online template and submit that as your "custom" design.

2. Only use images that you own, or to which you have been granted necessary license.

3. I leave green rep for all legitimate entries.
