Blogs are good for backlinks but article publishing and bookmark publishing sites are much better. Also there are companies who do it for you but I've never used one and wouldn't - why pay when you can add a few everyday. I suppose I could do 12000 in two months if I didn't have a life.

Has the 12000 links done the site any good in SERPs? I've found that 100-200 do the job for me. I suppose a FOREX site would need 12,000,000,000,000

I find yahoo to be very easy going on backlinks I have a sit e that was around5 months old with over 17000 backlinks but that is including links from my site. Yahoo does not reconize the nofollow tag so you can even get many links from.edu or.gov sites. Most areworthless ingoogle though you need a tremendous. I don't how much the links helped I find that yahoo puts most of the weight on the domain name keywords. I have put upseveral sites with absolutely no content and come up first on fairly competive keywords. I did not intend on yahoo indexing them but somehow they did and ranked very well tomy surprise. Iwishgoogle treated me that good

its possible if he added the link to the footer/ blogrolls of some sites with many pages, which all add up to 12 000. There's no panalty for this (know from experience), but there no added value for it either. In the end the sitewide gets reduced. So if there were 100 links per site, the benefit would be pass as it was ~1 link, with the rest being discounted. Our competitor owns a network of newpapers, which in total added around 2,000,000 link over several months, all being 100% footer duplicates, while the number of different sites is only around ~80, so the value is considered as 80 (or slighly more) distinct links as opposed to 2 million,

For sure it's possible...a good link builder with the right strategy can achieve that. Personally, I've built thousands of links to my sites in less than a month's time!

Not only do these links not count for much a high number of links generated in such a short space of time is likely to fall foul of google's spam detectors.

    Go for quality links yourself

The webmaster who you outlined probably ones or has connections to other blogs with lots of pages. This way you can get free or cheap links from various sources very easily. Other than that the only other way to achieve this would be to put in some hard work or use blog commenting software or other software to help you.
