$120 Logo & Header Contest for Oil Website

Okay guys – some more feedback. Please do take into account that it is also a financial site.
Also – don’t get too carried away with the emblems – it was just an idea.

Jurd6 – Thanks for the entries, but not what I’m looking for.
J634 – Sorry – but It won’t suit the audience.
Sizzling-space – Nice idea – but not right for a financial site – it may be better suited to a price comparison site.
Shammuptr – Not what I’m looking for – difficult to see the relationship to Oil & Finance.
Aderain – This is getting there – I like the idea and I quite like what you’ve done with the letters – can you make them shiny like the examples from the sites I mentioned in my first post.
Domitri – I LOVE the colour black you have used – it’s very clean and fresh. But the rest of the design doesn’t work – it’s just a little dull, if you could shrink the barrel a little or make a tower, something – just to give it a theme of sorts.
hipstick – sorry but I’m not keen on the colours or the idea really – thanks for entering though.
Anasone – I’m afraid the logo doesn’t work for me and the theme isn’t right if it’s finance related – BUT it’s definitely heading in the right direction as this is the sort of structure I’m looking for in a header.

I've had a few PM's from people saying they can't design a site theme but only a logo - which is fine.

zyndtel - that's pretty interesting. Would it be possible to use the colours of the balls you'll find on: http://www.madproductions.co.uk/ - As the red and the black on there are very sharp and fresh and i think could look very good with your design

Thanks for the feedback... here's another try. I pulled the image off of a website that allows free use of their photography. So no worries about copyright. Let me know if I'm getting closer... LOL... Thanks!

 

Let me know what you think, if you like this I can work on a banner.
These current logos have no gradients/shadows etc (except for the blue beneath the symbol on the bottom). So this is almost exactly how they'd look in print. If you'd like, I can also show you a version that is stylized for web presentation. Thank you, feedback is appreciated .

Thanks for the additional entries – I have more feedback.

Aderain – The oil well/platform – just isn’t working for me – but on the last 2 designs I do like what you have done with the logo – letter colouring and boldness.
Graphicband – Lovely colours they really are bold and very classy – but the Emblem isn’t working for me – it looks like a polluting factory.
hipstick – I like what you have done with the first part – I think it looks very good – but I’m not keen on the second part for either one.
e.Bond – thanks for the entry – sadly it’s just not what I’m looking for.
Anidesign – it’s very neat and simple but the colourings are nice. Is there any chance you could try something different with the emblem and possibly give it more of a oil//finance theme (subtle though)
Renderwork – thanks for the entry – it’s very creative, but just not right for my audience. I think it’s too colourful and a little obvious, thanks though.
MrEdesign – I think the top one is pretty interesting – I’m going to need to think about it a bit more.
Gfxpr0 – It’s pretty neat and I think the colouring is nice, but the emblem doesn’t have any meaning.
Gesfox – I can’t see anything.

They are really starting to look good. The colours don’t have to just be black and red (although I do quite like it.)

Gesfox – Thanks, but it’s not the sort of thing I’m looking for.
Gfxpr0 – sorry, but that won’t work – it’s just a little obvious.
Gorgon – I really like the letters – that’s very nice. But I’m not too keen on the emblem – can you do something there?
Renderwork – that’s a nice design (the top one) – I’m not too keen on the colouring of the letters – if you could make it bolder like some of the examples above or adda classy sheen to it.

At the end of today I’ll say who are in the top 3 places.
