1. Watch what you tweet; everything on Twitter can be seen by anyone. 2. Do not use Twitter as a business or personal email service. Just tweet. Because once again, anything you say on Twitter can be viewed by anyone. 3. Tweet on a regular basis. If you do not, there will be nothing for your followers to follow. 4. You only have 140 characters at your disposal per tweet, so get straight to the point. 5. Toot your horn, but not too loud. Even though your followers like to know all about you, your business, and whatever it is you are doing, they will not want to bother following a blowhard. 6. Twitter is basically a social network and a public network. You can be found by anyone, and anyone can see who follows you and who you follow. I thought everyone had the option to make their tweets private? (i.e. only their friends can see them)
I have a twitter account - the followers I have are pretty much idiots. They may tweet that they are stuck in traffic or they are going shopping. That type of info is useless to me. If I have a question - I'll tweet it - but it seems like everyone is ignoring me. I need to get better followers.
