12,000 Visit from Google Bot ?

I manage a website that gets around 1000 daily unique visitors but today suddenly has 12000 visit and after see the StatCounter it turns to be Google-Bot Images. is this normal ? it's the first time i see this huge visit amount in one day from Google bot

 

I haven't seen anything like this. Might be some technical glitch. You can use Google analytics.

Its better to use Google Analytics for your website then you can filter those unwanted traffic visitors to your site.

 

Check that your site does not have a virus. I had something very similar last year, and it was Google checking all the pages as it had detected a virus but didn't let me know for around 2 weeks.

 

no need to worry about google image bot crawler some time they increase crawling rate.
