I've had cj links on a new website for about 2 months now. Over this period there were over 24,000 ad impressions generating 113 clicks to merchants in the consumer electronics category. I thought that commissions would start rolling in by now but have seen absolutely none. Is this normal? Or is there something I can do to change this? Thanks in advance for your responses.
The good thing is you're getting the all important click-thru with your links. Whether they buy remains to be seen, but the main thing is that you've got the cookie established in case they do decide to buy later on. Remember: It sometimes takes 2-3 or possibly more visits before an individual makes that final decision to buy. Hang in there!
it's possible this advertiser doesn't convert well, or just doesn't convert for your site. Also some advertiser's only update their stats every so often.
It's all pay-per-sale and links to the merchant's main shopping page. I have the same setup with other affiliate networks with the same disappionting results. One of the reps told me over the phone that the advertisers are converting well, but I'll get better results with promoting specific products. I've tried his recommendation more recently, but nothing. I guess I just have to keep at it and see what happens... Thanks for the responses so far...
People might just click on the ad and go to the page but they usually dont buy the product. Click is counted and no commission is earned. This is nothing special.
hey.. sizzler_chetan, with due respect, you should not give expert advice on something you dont have any clues about. How can you ask if cj is pay per click? We all know that all clicks doesnt convert, all he wanted was to make some sense out of the very zero conversion ratio. To answer you enposte - even I have very low conversion ration. Less than 100 for web hosting is pretty bad. But one sale is good enough to compensate, mostly. Actually it takes 1-2 months before you start getting a regular income, due to the reason explained above. I will suggest you to be patient for some more time. Still if its not doing well, better drop the advertiser.
I too have affiliate relationships with cj for about 12 programs and out of 12 only 1 is making something for me. God atlast I think probably the following could be the way to go. 1. Choose Popular areas 2. Choose the advertisers with good EPC & EPM 3. Choose advertisers with high commission rates 4. May be choose popular brands 5. Build a better landing page. Most of the landing pages, banners and text links from cj advertisers suck. 6. try promoting it... Will this work or is there any thing additional to be remembered? Any veterans who had a lot of success can add more to the above or remove anything which doesn't suit..
Thanks all for the replies and sharing your experiences. Given how tough it is to make money from affiliate programs, I hope PPC never ends!
