don't be panic, yahoo always take time rather than google but after indexing it will give you more traffic in comparison to google

Different search engines have different crawling algorithm. Yahoo surely does have an odd one

Does this mean you have 1000 backlinks on one page--wont that produce a lot of clutter? I understand the concept of backlinks, but I'm still stumped by the whole matter.

Google indexing increased these days, also they have started generating backlinks more faster than before.
Don't worry about Google, they will index soon

Yup its always the case , my site indexed by google in less than a month but for yahoo it took 3 months , so you have to wait some more months before it happens.

I mean are you sure it is Yahoo that want to charge $400 I have never heard of that and it would make a mockery of it being a proper search engine.

you mean yahoo charges 400$ for indexing your site , i think that highly impossible.

Great tip. I'm glad someone had a decent answer for this guy.

I'd also add your blog to Technorati to increase crawl rate.

My experience is the same as the other posters.. google indexes much faster.. in fact for a site that I created one month ago.. all links were indexed in google in under 24 hours.. just a week ago I saw results showing for bing and still haven't seen anything in yahoo.. I know that it'll just take time. However yahoo is stopping their paid submit at the end of December. Basically what I'm saying is that what you're experiencing is NOT unusual.

i think you should consider about your visitors more than the index. if you got most traffic from google just pay attention to Google ranking. but if you want the traffic from yahoo (which rarely nobody care) you should just spend some bucks to be listed quicker or just wait until their bots really some to crawl your site.
