How can these algorithms be so far off that I am number 11 overall for a Google keyword that has 26,000,000+ results - but I do not appear at all in Bing for that keyword? How can Bing and Yahoo be so terrible? Is this some thing like you pay them for your ranking? If so what a rip off and worthless search result that would provide.
just judging from your experience in your post... I would be surprised if next week we see a post from you because you can not be found in google for the one keyword you are talking about.... the reason.... well because google will give temporary placement at the beginning then place your site accordingly
I have done absolutely nothing to many of my sites to optimize for bing and most of them are showing up and getting traffic from the new search engine with no problems. What is your site running on, static html page, php or what content management software/platform are you using?
I submitted my site to google, bing, yahoo on the same day (three weeks passed)! NOW My 72 links are indexed in google, about 26 in yahoo but not a single in BING! So, bing sux!
All search engines are different. keep trying and you will get listed on Bing also if you have good and unique conetent.
Hey Microsoft have released a 24-page paper on how their search engine works and related SEO implications. I would advise webmasters to download the document Download it from Here and read it Bing's FAQs state that you should do the following on-site seo to rank well in their search engine: · Target no more than two keywords per page · Use unique title tags on each page · Use unique meta description tags on each page · Use H1 tags · Use text navigation links · Create content for your human visitors, not the Bing web crawler · Incorporate keywords into URL strings Back links For backinks, they state that they prefer quality to quantity and that "Backlinks should be relevant to the page being linked to or relevant to your domain if being linked to the homepage. Within the webmaster tools, they rate your backlinks from one to five in a little green bar - the higher the green bar the higher the quality of the link in Bing's eyes. However they don't actually say whether these backlinks should be anchored or not. I'm guessing that like Google they want anchored backlinks. Hope i helped
I can't help the OP, but my experience is pretty similar to his: have a site ranking #1 in Google for several high competition keywords, that goes to page 6 in Bing. In Bing's Webmaster Central my site has 5 green squares out of 5, go figure...
You dont need to pay as it is free and try to compare with Yahoo and Bing as well.....easypeoplesearch.com Find People
Just an update that may help the OP. A few weeks ago I did write to Bing's customer care reporting the strange behavior of bing vs google for my site. I got an human reply stating the report had been "escalated" to the search team but then I received an automated message with the well known "checklist to rank well in Bing" and thought it was a way to say the issue was closed. However the report may have worked, as all of a sudden, today, my site jumped to #1 and #2 spots in Bing for two keywords where it was in pages 6 & 7. I don't know if this was related to the report (I doubt even Microsoft can afford the manpower to handle this kind of reports one by one). Anyway it seems there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Same. Getting disappointed with Bing. I got my site listed on rank 1 for a week or 2, then not I don't even see it. Not even a domain search. I'm not sure what's going on that bing removed me from index. But I'm still on rank 1 in Google and Yahoo on my keyword. Google is the big portion of the cake, Yahoo follows, Bing the smaller piece is trying something else funny and wants others to follow their SEO guidelines. On my opinion, I would rather forgo Bing and work on the bigger pie.
I don't think there is any connection of G search engine with Bing. You need to optimize your site differently for both of them. Indexing part as well differs. To what i have seen so far, Bing is slow in indexing and Google is quite fast and to my point of consideration i am only considering ranking in G as it covers huge market.
if your website isnt indexed in Bing, Submit your website at Bing: http://www.bing.com/docs/submit.aspx you can also ping your xml sitemap at webmaster tool..
