Hi, for those of you that file taxes in the US...

I just received a 1099 form from one of those paid to blog sites. It apparently is considered "other income" and is only $740. I don't currently file for taxes because I don't have a job (well, just got one, but in 2008, no), and am under my parents still as I'm a student. Do I still have to turn this in? We just kinda already did our tax return anyway. I know I didn't make more than $600 in any given month.

Most likely. You won't need to pay any income taxes on it because it is way under the taxable limit.

But, you MAY need to pay social security taxes on it. Self-employed income (which this income COULD be construed as) must be reported if over $600 per year and social security taxes must be paid. Social security taxes are due on ALL self-employed income over $600 per year.
