$101 Logo Contest

I am holding a contest through March 11th to create a logo for a new site, Gamorgeous. If we decide to use the winning design, I will pay the winner $101.00 via PayPal. If we don't find a design that we want to use, we will still select the best entry and pay a consolation prize of $10.00.

About Gamorgeous: Gamorgeous is an informative community about cosmetic surgery for women. We aim to provide extensive, deep and balanced information about cosmetic surgery. This is in sharp contrast to most of the information available online which is either full of hype or is overly clinical in its presentation.

In addition, we aim to build a strong community where women can form relationships to discuss beauty, ask questions about cosmetic surgery and share their experiences. This site is very much targeted at "real women" who want to have a procedure done to feel better about how they look. For many women, cosmetic suregery is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they nervously contemplate and anticipate for years. Our tagline is likely going to be "Look as Good as you Feel."

Audience: We are very dedicated to presenting this as a site for every beautiful woman, as best exemplified by the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, which featured older, heavier or unconventional looking women in ads for beauty products. For example, we are featuring a blog by a woman who is having excess abdominal skin removed after losing 150 pounds. Gamorgeous is NOT about Brittney Spears' boob job.

Tone: The logo should be fun and whimsical, though not ameraturish. It should clearly connote beauty, but not look like we are running a spa. Everything in your design should be clear, legible and clean. We very much like the look of this book and are open to the idea animated characters like this, but you are welcome to go another direction as well.

    Requirements/Other Info:
    • Logo should be presented in both square (1:1) and rectangular (2 high:5 wide) formats that are easily scalable
    • Winner will need to provide us with JPG and GIF files
    • All work should be completely original and not contain or infringe upon any third party designs or elements
    • All submissions will be considered "work made for hire" and we will obtain exclusive global rights to the winning design upon payment
    • We will try to provide feedback on submissions and questions at least once per day through March 11th
    • Enter as many times as you like. Winner will be selected at our sole discretion

Thank you very much for your entries!

Thanks Brown Cow, but that is rather "spa-like" too me. Too unattainable for a typical ("real") woman.

Appreciate your efforts and look forward to more entries!

Thanks for the entries so far. Nice efforts, but they are either a bit too corporate looking, or respectfully, look like they'd fit a porn site pretty well too!

    Some guidance:

    1. Try to avoid hot pink
    2. Please check out the example of what we like to see if you can come up with your own take on this design theme
    3. Remeber, this site is about building community. Can your design reflect that in some way?

Tropica: Nice work; your sencond design is certainly the leader so far. I like the colors you've selected, though still don't want to go too heavy with pink. The circles/bubbles are somewhat meaningless and I don't like them exactly, though do appreciate how they add weight and balance to the design.

Sandeepramje: You've submitted a nice quality design, but it's a bit too Web 2.0/corporate. We also don't want to make a "g" our symbol, as some large search company is already trying to do that.

One more quick comment to everyone: We would appreciate if the winner would provide us with the html color codes for the primary colors in their design.

Thanks to everyone for their wonderful submissions so far!

    thanks mharad :)

I can alter the colour-scheme if you wish? The bubbles I used to represent balanced as bubbles are perfectly formed and always in proportion :)

Certix: Very nice effort. This execution doesn't totally work for us, but the concept is great. What's good about it is how the woman doesn't look like she's torn from a magazine page -- she is a 'real' woman that isn't overly skinny or busty and the way she holds her head and kicks her leg seems to imply that she feels great about how she looks. We like how 'gamorgeous' is fun and whimsical, though perhaps a bit too much so (maybe remove some of the flowers).

We don't actually care for this character (my partner says the face looks too much like Betty Boop, if that helps), but great start. The colors are nice, but we don't want to go too overboard with pink. We are slighly concerned as to how this design will scale to smaller sizes, too.

Again, think about the community aspect of what we're trying to do. Could you creatively show more than one character without making this too cluttered? Is there an interesting way to incorporate a mirror?

Tropica: We like the colors you chose, but maybe try to tone down the pink (more brown and white?). The bubbles do add good weight and balance, but we just don't care them, so maybe play around with some other ideas to compensate.

    Thanks for the additional entries!

    Mooseman: Elegant, but unremarkable.

Jonesy Very nice effort. The rectangle is pretty good, but the square doesn't work for us. Colors are nice, but a little too pink (color scheme looks like a retailer's -- Bendel maybe? Victoria's Secret?). Perhaps make the pink lines thinner. The font for Gamorgeous is neat, though the letters could be slightly thicker/bolder. We don't care for the character that you created, as it is hard to decipher what it is supposed to be. It looks like it could be a baby

Tropica Thank you so much for all of your entries! However, we liked your earlier ones better. Don't care for the symbol or colors in these. If you care to take another try, perhaps start with your very first submission. Make Gamorgeous brown and the tag line pink and experiment with other imagery.

    Thanks everyone!!!!
