I disagree. I haven't purchased a link from this site or any other yet, but I still think it's a good idea. People need to stop being overly-skeptical of these things. The MDHP worked because a few people believed in it. It only takes a pebble to start an avalanche. So if you have a little $$ to throw around (Which most of us do), I suggest investing in these oddball ideas. One of them just might take off, and take you with it.

That said, I'm not entirely convinced of this method. The site in question is great, but the method overall is lacking.

I think you right about that. That’s why I would like to see people post some numbers. I think that with the numbers we will know if it worked or not. If I invest $5 and get something like 50 clicks per day, then yes it’s worth it. Less than that, I can find better ways for free. But we still don’t know how long it will last.

If you can find me a place where you can get 50 clicks a day for any length of time for a one time investment of $5, please let me know. I will be happy to pay ten times that amount.

You have to consider what the traffic is that you're getting from this site as well.

Are they webmasters/geeks who are just seeing who took the time to go through the process or are they people really interested in your site?

I was considering doing this, but then I see that the links aren't SEO friendly. I'm not going to pay for "curiousity" traffic.

No question about it - you have to consider if your budget can handle a $25 gamble. I figured I could and I am happy with 10-15 clicks a day.

1000Tags.com is not that sutainable as it's a one-shot thing. If you want to use tags to advertise, there's zoomtags.com. If not, then just use the same ol' channels :)

what you mean like any other directory?

link farms are places that generally have a network of sites and demand backlinks and stuff like that...at least that's my take on it.

The Million Pixel Home Pages are new and like most things it has skeptics. But places like Alexa, forums, articles and other online press are reporting real traffic being genearted from the Million Pixel Home Page. As for now it is a real source of internet marketing.

This milliontags page isn't getting anywhere close the publicity MDHP did. Like other posters said, the visitors you're gonna get probably aren't your targeted ones. If this concept starts to become a major fad like MDHP, there's nothing to stop a ton of other sites to reproduce this idea. But the main reason I wouldn't pay for a link is because of the lack of publicity. Pixels is one thing - but tags? Doesn't look appealing. Doubt the media will care.

Agreed. The MDHP guy had a way better approach at his marketing, with all this talk about writing internet history and his various college stories.

You mean a CPC of $0.25? That's a lot. I wouldn't pay so much. And that why I'm also offering a much lower CPC.

You can check the CPC(s) and the statistics. Everything is public, nothing to hide.

Errr... It isn't a set CPC. If I eventually get 1000 clicks, then it will be a CPC of $0.025. 10,000 clicks is a CPC of $0.0025.

What CPC are you offering? Give me a number. Can you offer $0.0025?

You wrote: If I can get 100 clicks for $25, ... so $0.25 which the price for the keyword webmaster on Google AdWords. Of course, a CPC of $0.025 is very very good. In fact anything under $0.02 is good without question.

My goal is $0.01. You can read the details in the two pages I linked in my previous post.
