I noticed (for example) directory critic has 1800 links on this page directorycritic.com/paid-directory-list.html doesn't Google frown upon this as it recommends max 100 links per page ? also what about the milliondollar homepage.. that must have several 1000 too. thanks in adv.. James.
obviously the million dollar homepage doesn't really care what Google thinks, now does it? If the purpose of a website is to catalog links, what right does Google have to say it can only have 100??? Believe it or not, there are MANY sites out there who DO NOT depend on being listed in Google. You might want to consider exploring the idea of that possibility.
Why would google care?? If they wanna clutter up thier page and make it look stupid thats not thier doing
agree with maldives, it not useful to get listed on that page for increase your pr. because pr of that link page will be distributed in 1000 sites. it will be useful just to get indexed in google.
Agreed that passed pr would be 0, does traffic count for nothing? for example: There are 1800 links on that list and I still have a couple of sites that I may add. thanks in adv... James.
Dmoz list over 100 links in many of its pages. I have tested this some time ago, and appareatly Google did not penalize my site. What I discover was that Google tend to penalize faster for bunch of irrelevant links on a page whether the total outbound links are 100 or less. The number seems to be a smaller factor for Google to consider a link farm.
