10000 returning visitors, how to make the most of them?

They probably won't click any ads, so they're useless to me earnings wise. Is there a script to block adsense from returning visitors and show different ads?

Adsense usually shows different ads. Each time I refresh a page there are different ads. It all depends on who is advertising and who ran out of budget and those who target.

Yes you can. it's called phpAdsNew. You can set the time frame in which you allow them to see which and how many ads.

phpAdsNew would be a good way like TOPS30 mentioned. There are ways to set it so the same banner (or advertiser in this case) is not displayed twice to the same user. You would probably have to look at other publishing programs though so that you can display a YPN ad or a banner from somewhere else etc...

JSPD, if that was in response to my post, read about phpAdsNew and you'll find you are in full control of who to show AdSense to and who not.

I personally think thats totally false that ALL returning visitors wont click ads.. Out of 10,000, there is a pretty huge chance you will get some clicks at least.

Several CMS systems (such as Joomla!) will allow registered, logged-in users to be show different content (or different or no ads in this case).

If you are looking for something that would automatically change if ads are shown at all, or to change the ads (AdSense, YPN, etc.) for repeat visitors, you might consider asking around the programming forum.

I need to type faster... so many new posts since I started my first reply!

I forgot all about phpadsnew. Great idea!

Not sure which tracker you're talking about but it probably can. And it only takes the bulk of SQL queries on the first load, the rest is done via cookies (besides impression counting for reporting, but any decent server shuold be able to handle that).

If you are getting that many return visitors, why don't you offer a premium service that they can subscribe to, offering them more features/extra information and create a residual income for yourself through PayPal Subscriptions.

Out of 10,000 visitors surely you will be able to get a few to sign up to your premium service - if that's 10,000 visitors/day then after a few months you would be sitting on a solid, reliable income stream.

You could remove AdSense and all adverts for the premium members.

Where in phpadsnew can you block returning visitors from seeing ads? i only see limiting by ip, country, os, browser, etc. but no returning visitors?

Premium service is probably a good idea, but I got nothing extra yet. I am thinking of putting a banner to my next site and telling them to support my new site, I wonder if that's against adsense rules.

I don't go with the idea that returning visitors won't click on ads. May be because I think of ads that they interesting ones will be clicked , I don't rely on deceiving visitors to click on ads. All successful websites depend on returning visitors. Youtube for example ,I am sure that 80-90 % of its visitors are people who know that these are google ads, yet many people click them several times. Just like myself, If i find an intersting ad , I click it without thinking much of the advertiser or publisher.
You too will surely kepp on getting clicks even from returning visitors. AREN't YOU??

I don't know, I need a way to track how many return visitors are clicking. My guess is maybe 1-5% of them click :(

and compare this to the early times of your site's launch. It could have always been 1-5%. (oh, and 1-5 % ctr is the normal average ctr that most of us have).

If there is no much conversion from the ads , then they will get you smart priced whether they are returning or unique visitors. And that's what most of us suffer from , and can do hardly anything about it.

On the other hand, if there was a good conversion rate from the start , then probably it will still continue to do so because the ads change automatically and new ads will be displayed. Such visitors interested -before in clicking and subscribing or buying a product- might still continue to do so with the new ads.

You say it shows same ads?!!! is your niche that specific and rare?!! If it's ok with you, you can give a link to your site so that we can help you more
