I used Paypal to pay for 1000 visitor, and didnt received any.. and he is refused to refund since his "system" show that all the traffic sent to my site, but take a look at the Google Analytics report.. Do you want to tell us that you sent 4664 visitors to my site, when I only paid for 1000? an Google Analytics did not see any one of them? or maybe its 25,000 visitors that you sent? Server stat is definitely the way to trace 100% raw traffic, but it can't differentiate between fake traffic & real human traffic. Fake traffic can easily be created by a bot and hit the server without executing the web script, ie, AdSense code, analytic, javascript etc.. What we want is human traffic which uses browser to access our site, and by doing so it will by itself execute most of the web script. So having analytic is one of the way to increase the possibilities that the traffic is a genuine human traffic.. however, I do agree that Analytic sometime fails to record some visits, simply if the visit is done in a very short time, without allowing analytic script to record it. But in my opinion if we have a fast loading page, with a very interesting content, this will not be an issue. I'm also aware that there are bots that use browser to visit your site and create fake traffic too, but chances are slim.. So my conclusion: any traffic will only be valuable if it can be recorded by Analytic.. or any other web script traffic analyser.. of course after considering the bounce rate as well..
