If it was any good why would he sell it on ebay for $50?

Too risky IMO. Google isn't going to like your website suddenly featuring on 1000 sites that whore out their link juice for a monthly fee.

netmaster123, this person is DEFINITELY 100% confirmed, I take guarantee for this post, selling links from the gotlinks network. The seller's website is cyberlinkpro.com

Ask him by clicking on the ask a seller link if you don't believe me;)

Yeah, do a search on this board for "gotlinks";)

Those links in the auction are all from gotlinks.

Because they do not own the websites that they are selling links on. These are websites that belong to the gotlinks link exchange program, and when you purchase this package your link will automatically appear on the first page of your chosen category on of the links page script on 1000 websites (you can choose each website individually in the control panel). Be advised though that many of the websites are of utterly low grade quality, and there are completely unrelated links present on the same pages.

I looked at that auction days ago. When hunting through the gotlink network, every site in the network has the same content and all I saw were PR0's...

They are also offering a package for 4000 links, FYI:p

I have checked and quite a few of them aren't even indexed in google. (the pages on which your link goes)

Link building has to be done in a way that it looks 'naturally' to the search engine. 1,000 (or even 100) new inbound links in a very short period of time will raise a red flag and may even get you delisted.

Could be true however remember, nobody can ban your site if somebody links to your site, now you can get in trouble if you link back to them.

Gotlinks is supposed to be a link exchange network.

I have to disagree. Just think of how many sites get thousands upon thousands of links pointing to them when a site like Digg.com links to them. I've heard many times in the past that having links in bad neighborhoods will get you banned from google, but I have yet to see any real proof of this. It's actually the other way around, if you are linking to bad neighborhoods that will get you in trouble.

Just think about it. What if google did punish people for having links from bad sites? What would stop a group of porn/spam/adware/casino sites from all getting together and linking to microsoft.com just to spite microsoft?

quick5pnt0, you're right but those low quality and unrelated links would be severely devalued...
