Hi I have a site that sells Astrology reports and psychic readings. It is not yet optimized so have been on a crash course to understsand the whole issue and pass on my grand plan to my webmaster. KEYWORDS - I have searched on various free keyword search tools and todat have gone through around 1,000 keyphrases of 1-3 words. Only about 2 had a KEI score of over 10 (considered "good") : one was "artwheels " (i sell colour chart wheels), another was "love horoscopes" - neither one of these target my main services. Most scores were really low - i am up against a huge amount of competing websites. I have thought up all manner of variations, still no joy. I understand that i should be using a keyword "theme" for each page- repeating the chosen keywords in all tags and titles as well as in the actual text. So, although I could perhaps go for some obscure and inarticulate long-tail keyword phrase for the tags, which are not visible to people, i obviously cannot put these in my TEXT as i would come across as unable to spell, have awkward sentence structure, etc it seems that just about every 1-3 word phrase that includes the word "tarot", "psychic" "clairvoyant" "astrology" "horoscope" etc is , according to wordtracker, not worth me using as tens of thousands of other sites have them. I just don't know WHAT to do Do I put obscure whole-sentence keyword phrases in my tags and then use more sensible phrases in my copy? if i do that i kiss goodbye to my plan to have a "keyword theme" for each page Or do i go for the competetive terms and hope for the best ? I have a brain and have done my research so i know all about digging for variations- but of course the variations have to contain words in a coherent order, i cant have thing s like "psychic reading get now" in my page text, or "astrlogy horoscoop chart " !!!! I have various plans to up the ante for traffic through lots of directory submissions, getting other backlinks, recip links, social bookmarking, writing articles, doing a blog, press release, email newsletter, etc....so should i just go for the competetive keywords/phrases ? I just don't see another option thanks
