Hi, I have been running my site for 1 year. I recently updated my website giving a new look and feel. My adsense revenue has gone wayyyy done. 1000 visiters and only 4-5 clicks making only .70 cents. It is a technical website. I have ads by other advertisers too. I guess I have to just wait some more time before I can see the real result.
I don't have fancy design. It is a technical website and I post my articles there. I have 200+ articles on the website. So, I have good amount of content. Search for GridViewGuy and let me know what you think about that site.
Should I insert the ads between the content? Like when the user is reading the long article and there are 1-2 ads in the middle of the article.
Absolutely. Keep testing different placements and sizes Although, you can't really expect all that many clicks from a technical audience
Normally for technical stuffs you wont get more clicks nowadays becoz most of the technical guys who come to your site already know how to differentiate between ads and the content.
Technical Sites are harder to get clicks, but this CTR is still way too low. A couple of suggestions. One get rid of the border also consider some different formats. The large rectangle works best for me on a couple of my tech type sites. If you can work it into the content then that is a plus, but put them above the fold. Second put more ads. I clicked through several of your articles and did not see any context ads just the link unit. On the front page get rid of the Sponsored Links text. Does not help you. I would recommend to get a hold of Joel Comm's eBook it will help a lot with what works and what does not. If you are not already doing it, make sure you use channels to find out what motivates your visitors and produces clicks, then once you know replicate that strategy. hth
Thanks for all the suggestions. One question though. If I don't put Sponser Ads text then what should I put there. Thanks for all the help, Azam
(boy this 'listening to' plugin is creepy, I forgot I had it running, and was like: "how'd he know I was listening to Coldplay??!!")
