Ive been working on my site for 3 months and its getting about 1000hits a day and its averaging around $1 a day. I'm wondering if i should just give up on it and move on, is 1000 hits a day any good? and a convertion rate into $1? I think a big problem with my site is its doesn't know what it is.. and so i get alot of random ads ....................... www.thekn0wledge.com
You might be getting irrelevant ads because you have not enough content. About your traffic, 1000 could be good or bad depending on how much you've worked on it although to me, 1000 is bad. Whether your payout is good or not also depends on your website's topic, if it's something cheap like games cheats paying $0.03 per click, that's 3% CTR which is ok. But if you only get a single $1 click per day, that's 0.01% CTR which is bad. You need to explain your situation for a more accurate answer.
It looks like you're ads are untargeted because you need more content. Could you post a screenshot of your Adsense so we can better judge the situation?
My site have about 2000 impress but get 9$ per day. I don't know you mean 1000 request or 1000 impress, if is 1000 impress = 1$ that it's very low. Where your traffic come from?
my traffic mainly comes from google now, although when i was first driving it i used digg to get it known.
You should keep writing good content and not worry too much about adsense earnings yet. Getting 70 unique visitors a day from google search is not easy. You have done pretty well and should aim to increase your content further. Once you have got a site getting a lot of natural traffic from google then you can move on to tweaking your google ad placement to see what works best. 70 visitors a day is not enough to carry out adsense experiments because you need big numbers to compare stats. accurately. You have some serious SEO problems too. 1. You should make the actual post titles link to the actual post instead of having the 'read more' links. 2. You should use <h1> tags on your post titles. 3. You need to have unique description tags on each page. 4. At the bottom of each post page you should have the titles of the previous and next posts and link to them 5. Create a single page that links all other pages, a sitemap. I see you are using joomla. I personally only have experience with using wordpress and find that most of these things can be done easily.
Yeah go with WordPress. It does all the SEO work for you for the most part. I had all of my pages indexed in Google, Yahoo, and MSN within the week while using WordPress for my blog.
eheh.. it was originaly a wordpress blog but i changed it to joomla cos i thought it would give me more scope to expand.. there are wordpress mods you can get for joomla.. but changing everything back to wordpress would take me an age. everyone keeps telling me i need more content.. but ive got quiet a bit there already.
You should remove your stats from there, it's not allowed in adsence TOS and you'll be removed from the program.
It may be hard to market and get clicks because not too many people are interested in buying booklets and pamphlets about evolution and such. Just my opinion.
complience, try to organise your website a bit better into categories or tags / related sections etc, if possible. You can then track to see how well one section is doing in comparison to another and work on expanding the successful sections and abandoning the less successful. Also you might want to try to force the Ads into being more relevent by having some kind of strong <H1>titles</H1> and subtley keyworded 'introductions' on each section of your site to bring up more relevent ads.
