Well sure yea, id pay 1k too, for a linkback from Google.com or MSN.com or Yahoo.com LOL... i doubt his site is that good.. no offense...
hay yea ive paid that for a link before - 3 months at 1k pm - get an idea of the client from them - if they seem like they can afford the price then sell it - dont worry about getting sued... never happen. But yea - if its a legit site and a legit buyer... maybe try and up them to $2k pm - see if they bite...
well, I've called and also replied by email. No contact. I'll update if anything comes in. Maybe it was just spam.
Make sure that you have a terms of service on your website that says your not liable for links or advertisements on your site. A $1000 offer for a link on your homepage is a scam unless your website is extremely high traffic or is a PR8+
$1k seems far too low for the risk involved here. Think about it - you are linking out to a link farm and as such there is a chance that this could land you in trouble with the search engines. Consider the risk of being slapped by the search engines - is it really worth $1k? It might be worth $1k to a site that just sells links and makes a little Adsense money, but if you're making good money from the site, I wouldn't bother.
Interesting observation. Considering my site is just a web presence for a brick and mortar store. And I have always had a very strong personal rule of never having any outlinks back to vendors, because then they outlink to my competitors..... So my mantra has always been, we are a dead end destination on the web....
