So I get an email to our general inbox from someone offering $1000 for a link on my homepage. The wording of the email implied to me it wasn't the usual spam, so after a little bit of googling and sleuthing it turns up that the site looks like a local linkfarm, but the phone number was local, the advertising on it was legitly local, and in the right category of what this home page represents..... So I ask you experts, Yeah? or Neigh? too low? to high? As a background, the site in question's home page has a google rank of 5, is for a company that sells a high $(think $60K) product locally to consumers, and ranks 1 or 2 national in many of the key word searches that the link farm would probably want.
Make sure they are legit. Call their local number and make sure of the terms. Then discuss a deal with them...
Well, that would be my next step. If I were interested. But I'm trying to feel out the community if this is usual and customary or not. I just build my sites for me.
It is quite ununsual - $1000 for one link in any page is a high number - difficult to digest that it is not a scam, I would love to sell link at my home page for $150 per year - my site is PR4
Hello, I think it's too high price... I sell only $25 PR3/year.. Just contact me if you're interested
That was what I was thinking too. The only mitigating factor is that the link would be to their "farm" for personal injury attorneys. So far they have one client. Personal injury attorneys spend advertising money like it's made out of Greek dachma's , heh.
Linksboy, I'm not buying links, someone approached me to buy FROM ME! Has anyone ever recieved or paid so much?
Well I used to have sold a link set for that amount, not just one link annually, rather a link set, and script install for ads on a page. So it's better if you contact them first and get some information.
After thinking it over, no way would anyone pay $1K upfront for a link. There's no backside guarantee. My guess is 1K represents a multiyear offer. I'll call monday and let everyone know what's the gig.
Hmmmm... it's to high for it. If it is legit, maybe you can accept it. But , will someone too fool to offer such high price? make sure you post the link after you get full payment. Good luck
try it. add link only after you received the money. there are many people who talks a lot but pays nothing and keep saying will pay tommorrow or in two days like that.. so always add links once you received the money
Your joshing, me right? $1K for a link for a year is considered low? can you point to me an example? Thanks in advance.
I'm going to conact him on monday. Aside from the money issue, which is interesting, the problem I have is having a link on my homepage promoting personal injury attorneys, who then might sue me!
Did he/she mentioned period of time? I think it will be for lifetime. As 1k is too high and it can't be for an year.
hahaha wow i would not believe it in a heartbeat... lmao why would you even post this? just say yea sure ok deal, and have him pay you first. if he doesnt pay you, then dont follow through.. simple as that..
Sure, go for it.. Unless you care about seo a lot. I am buying links - and I think theer could be sites where I would buy a 1000 usd link.
