I have few domains that i would like to develop and i have plan and goal in mind. I need your critique and advise on how to start. Or maybe smack some sense in me if i am being over optimistic. Goal: $1000 month in next 12 months. Experience: -Understanding of SEO but never done it. I have pretty much been reading on this forum and learning from cbt's. - I am not a programmer or a designer though i am in IT, systems engineering side.(I can make small change and edit's) Q1. Is my plan too aggressive? I would like to invest $200 a month for next 12 months on marketing, seo etc. Write 2 articles a week 10 hrs per week. Site mixture of ecommerce and content sites. ( I have been selling on ebay and amazon for quite sometime, though not lot, but i do have some business sense. ) Q2. Which domain i should develop first. Below are the domains I own. Gardnersgreen *com Financialestimate *com(I have been surviving in stock market for past three years so do have some understanding of trading and charting) Businesscalc *com Pilatesoutlet *com Motooutfit *com bodycollections *com raquetballsupply *com sprinkleroutlet *com Sportcoatoutlet *com Mortgagemarketdata *com (decent knowledge) wholesalemeds.org electricianoutlet *com Bags-shop *com Females.cc (Porn site.... lol NO i wouldn't.. don't know what to do sportweblog.org Virtualization.club (Good knowledge and experience) magentotemplate *co.uk Magentoskin *co.uk
hi, i think $200 / month. it's enough amount next 12 months. and 2nd one is it's my personal view you go with Bags-shop *com domain. Dear according my knowledge first you create a website on particular topic and then take few paid services like SEO, PPC, SMO Advertising and more. definitely You will gets good traffic. Regarding how much traffic you get it's depends on what keywords you chose and which rank your website stands to visitors on searchengines.
Where do you plan to invest the $200? With all those domains you would need to write a lot more than 2 articles per week. Do some research to find out how competitive the niches are and how much traffic you can expect. It will be easier if you are interested in the subjects you are writing about and have some knowledge about the subject.
If I were you I would be worried about having too many directions to go with so many domains. I think you should pick the one that you are most passionate about and then focus all your attention on it. Start doing everything you possibly can for that website to start taking off. From what you have said you have some business experience and the domain Financialestimate I believe you could create a very lucrative business that helped people with their money. I don't know what your skills are but if you know the stock market then do something with that.
Thanks R.Suhag for your input. What type of site should i create for Bags-shop. Are you suggesting to create affiliate, content or ecommerce? Not sure if I have enough budget a month for PPC, but SEO and SMO is what i am looking to focus on.
$200 will mostly go in SEO and link building effort. How many articles you think i need, i know it is very subjective but any guesswork from your experience. I am not looking to develop all the sites, just 3 or maybe 4.
....... Good advice, the only reason i was thinking of going for more then one site is because, i have been reading that it is very tough to create an authority site. To me biggest risk is loosing motivation if i don't see much return for my effort this won't be my B&B. I have a keen interest in finance, and i follow the news regularly, however i work for investment bank, not in finance rather in IT. So it might create a conflict of interest.
Well that is the problem with start ups is the time consumption. If you are worried about your employer ask him what he thinks.
I would write 2 articles per week for one site. Perhaps if you were developing 2 sites you could do one article per week for each of them. You could save your money on SEO for the first 3 months. Just focus on social marketing instead. This will get instant results and is something you can do quite easily yourself. It will also help you find ideas for new articles as you reach out to others in your niche. You can also do some blog commenting and get active in related forums. If done properly this will drive quite a lot of traffic to your site and again is free (apart from your own time of course!). Be careful where you spend your money on SEO. A lot of SEOs will just waste your money on low quality links that in the end will just harm your site.
