Agreed. Please can we see the other entry? I will post another entry, but need to see what I'm up against to see what sort of style you like. Obviously I'm not going to copy the work, but it would really help to see the leader's entry.
If i lose i intend to get it coded and sold on my upcomming site along with a collection of other themes and i do not want this shown untill its ready for sale. If i win, i will post a preview here if braane doesn't mind showing it before the site is online. My template design is similar to johnchow.com, it is a 2 column, right sidebar layout, a lot like a traditional wordpress blog. It has a horizontal navigation bar at the top and a 3 column footer like john chow. At the time the preview was sent it was unfinished, I am currently working on the logo and footer.
But how do we know what we're up against, that's the point I'm trying to make. If you make an amazing design that's worth of an award, I'm not going to bother entering because I'll just be wasting my time. Can't you just post a preview now?
Can you tell me more about the whole webby news name, i'm having trouble comming up with a logo, webby as in spider web? i'm thinking of using an rss icon to emphasize the news aspect @kiteguy Thats the gamble everyone takes when entering any contest
I think it does add a level of invisibility... but it also adds a level of uniqueness. I must respect aces wishes and not show his layout. If he wants me to leave it alone, then I must. As for the Logo, it really doesn't have to be anything special. It can be like the earth with an arrow going around it, signaling the internet. Or it can just be some really cool text.
