Hi everyone, I am back with another competition. I would like a new site design/layout for my website EzyTrader.com The website will be a classifieds site You can view the existing site at www.ezytrader.com/index.php The contest will run 72 hours (I reserve the right to NOT pick a winner if none of the entries are suitable) The winner will receive $100 USD via Paypal Please keep in mind that i am in Australia and due to timezones my replies may be delayed a few hours All entries will be posted in the thread and NOT by PM The Logo on the site is being used so the website design should use the same colors. The existing design is the standard template that comes with the software, so i need the site to look totally different to that template. I would like to keep the same "call to actions" of the existing design but change the look and layout. hopefully make it look fresher and cleaner. just need a more modern look than most other classifieds sites. You only really need to design the index page (home page). The website is responsive so you also have to think about how the site looks on other devices. If you can show me designs of the website layout and cell phone layout i should be able to work out everything else in between. Also i would like small basic icons for the category headings i.e For Sale, Learning, Services.... and so on. Maybe these icons would look good on the cell phone layout??? With the winning entry... I would like it to be fully layered and in PSD format I would like the font files included (or in case of licensing issues, the name of the font and where to get it) All rights to the design to be handed over to me If you have any other questions then please ask. Good luck Mark
@EzyTrader How is this? If you would like you can PM me and we can discuss the direction of this. I can change literately anything as everything is on its own layer. Let me know boss! Whatever you can think of I can make
It would be amazing if you would provide the logo in .png with transparent background - and if there are any specific main colors you would like us to use or if the current color theme is the one we should use. Anyway, I'm in.. will post my entry soon.
@Todd Duquette - Nice effort, but unfortunately it's not what I'm going for. For a classifieds site, I don't like the banner bit with the painting in it, and the logo should be to the left. TBH it "feels" like an e-commerce design. I do understand a classifieds site is hard to design. I spent many hours looking through designs and was unable to find something i liked, hence the contest. I look forward to seeing what else you have. Please don't forget the call to action part that says "Sell Your Stuff Today". @Creative Nerd - Welcome to the competition. I have uploaded a version of the logo with a transparent background for you. you can access it with the link below. http://www.ezytrader.com/mark/logo-transparent.png The colors for the site should be the same as the logo and the use of dark grey is also fine in the footer like Todd has done, or used sparingly in the main design. The only place i would like to see a totally different color is on the "Sell Your Stuff Today" so it stands out, and i will leave that color up to your own discretion
Here's my try: http://imgur.com/a/GPedY // includes the homepage design, some of it's hover/active states and mobile (retina @2x) preview. Features: built for bootstrap, designed for responsiveness, easy to build for retina displays (up to @3x), clean and modern look, optimized for touch based displays, making use of free Google fonts and free FontAwesome icons, documents ready to be sliced and turned into a working web page, documents are organized in color coded groups and layers for ease of use. Also, I'd love if you would provide feedback by PM (or feel free to add me on skype: acreativenerd) regarding my design and what should I do in order to improve it, as I would really like to get to design this. PS: Congrats for your country's position at Eurovision
Fully layered, arranged PSD as you requested. I can create as many modifications as required to fulfill your needs. Mobile version: Here is a high resolution screenshot about the mobile version:
@Creative Nerd - Looks nice, definitely in the right direction. However... the top section with the logo and links seems a little small. Also, the banner section is to large (i.e the height). Maybe move the "recent listings" to the right or a different spot and make the banner shorter? @outwork69 - Thanks for joining the competition. This is a nice design and i can see it would work well in a responsive site, but the banner in the full site design is goldy brown and the mobile version is blue. Is it possible to see the blue version on the full site design? The color theme of the logo doesn't really flow from the logo to the rest of the design. I don't really like the "sell your stuff" call to action. it stands out but i don't like the look of it Also, I'm not sure about the random ad placement in the categories list
Thank you for the feedback. I made all the required changes. I can modify additional elements/parts if you think that something is wrong. I would like to make this design to fit totally your needs! Version #1 - Location selector as a list: Version #2 - Dropdown location selector: Mobile version:
Thanks guys I was hoping for a bit more of a response from more contestants If its ok with you i would like to extend the competition another 24 hours
I'm definitely ok with that as I didn't have the time to make the requested changes. I really appreciate that EDIT: My revised entry - as requested, I've made more space in the header and reduced the size of the action box. Also, the "recent listings" was moved next to the Browse Categories section, thus making it easier to use and find by the end user.
Hi. Here is an idea with updated header section. I think it works better for a classifieds site and it is more unique now. Hope you like it better. Please note that the items on the desk are changable, I can customize the background colour of the header section too! Version #1 - Rounded category icons: Version #2 - Square category icons: Version #3 - List-like location selector:
