$100 Web Design Contest

Hello DPers!

We are looking for a design for a new site. We've done a lot of work on the idea and have a coder who is very capable, but we need some help with the design. The site is a video game themed site where users can talk to each other and discuss their game collections. It's also going to be backed up by a blog on the main page, as well as a 'live stream' of what users are doing. Think gaming, but also think about social networking sites: Facebook should be a good point of inspiration. Also take a look at this for an idea of how we'll have streaming content and a blog on the same page, but please ignore the horrible fonts and color scheme!

Here are some things to follow:

• Think fresh, unique, minimal but NOT empty. Limit your colors. We're thinking of WHITE and BLUE being the primaries. We definitely want white background and black text.
  
• Use social networking and gaming as your main influences.
  
• Make a place holder for the logo. We'd like the logo to cover the entire width of the site, as seen here. Please don't worry about the logo itself, we'll have a separate contest for that.
  
• Please make sure that the header/logo isn't rasterized. As much as possible please design in vector, it makes things easier for us.
  
• Please include a navbar under the main logo. Menu links need to be editable. Navbars should be about the width of those on the top of facebook or here.
  
• Make the site as modern as possible. Feel free to experiment however you like but keep it looking modern and clean, the last thing we want is clutter.
